| Bole choodiyan: Shilpa Saklani with husband Apoorva Agnihotri | One face missing from Star Plus's Navratri celebration this year will be Shilpa Saklani, who plays Ganga in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and the lead role of Kkusum in the show by the same name.
The actress has been suffering from slipped disc for the last six years.
A couple of weeks ago, Shilpa's back pain worsened, forcing her to cancel her Nach Baliye rehearsals. Reliving those moments, the actress says, "I went through immense pain and it was a hell for me. Thankfully, I am in much better shape now and have resumed my rehearsals." No jumping around
"I have suffered from a slipped disc for almost six years now," says the actress.
"There are certain things I have to keep in mind while shooting, and even when I am home. I make sure I don't make things worse by jumping around too much or lifting heavy things, and I maintain a correct posture. Since I am doing Nach Baliye, which is a dance show involving lot of moving around, I have to be extra careful." Missed Navratri
Shilpa says she feels really miserable about not being part of the festival show this year. "I was at the peak of my pain when they called me to shoot for it," she says. "They even requested me to pose for the promos, but there was no way I could walk from one point to the other. However, I tried to meet the family and wish them good luck." Amazing physio
"The only solution to slipped disc is regular physiotherapy," explains the Kkusum actress. "Since I start shooting early in the morning, I would call someone for therapy at five in the morning. But soon I realised it wasn't feasible, so now I get my treatment done late at night, after I wind up work.
Sheela is the girl who gives me massages; she has even treated my dad. She is amazing at her job, and volunteered her services to me. She's physically challenged, so I want to help her out by sending her abroad for studies. I think a lot of my pain has gone away due to her. Chura mystery
Many fans ask me how long I intend wearing my trademark churas. I have decided to remove them when our marriage completes a year and three months, which is due very soon. I am quite attached to them, so it will be quite a moment for me. |
