Shilpa to play Bond Girl?

It seems that after Aishwarya Rai, now it's Shilpa Shetty who has been approached to play Bond Girl in James Bond opposite Daniel Craig. After winning Big Brother, Shilpa Shetty became popular amongst British and Americans. A source says, "Shilpa is very big in UK and she has her fans. She is treated like a front-line star when she is in UK. Recently she was in Paris when the agents from Hollywood approached her for the role. But she is a bit skeptical about exposing skin on screen. She is not even aware about the length of the role."

When we contacted Shilpa Shetty she was unavailable for comment. Her spokesperson Dale Bhagwagar informed that, "Shilpa is in Paris at the moment, and if she is offered a role, she will surely consider. Shilpa loves challenges and stunts. She is a perfect package of looks, figure, talent and intellect. If her mind-blowing action sequences in Dus are anything to go by, she is no less than India's answer to Lara Croft."

It seems that Hollywood always had this fascination for Asian actresses. Earlier, they had even shown interest in casting Aishwarya Rai as Bond Girl, but somehow the project didn't take off. In an earlier interview she had stated that, "Oh, that's a rumour! That rumour should get a lifetime achievement award, man! At the time that it started, there wasn't even a script, there wasn't a James Bond. It all started, supposedly, with some people who had come down to India to meet me regarding it. But that was the time when I met with the accident, so the meeting didn't really come about. But it managed to make it to the headlines!" Meanwhile, a search across blogs on the internet would reveal that fans have already voted for Shilpa to be a hot favorite for the next Bond girl.
