I do not participate in any discussions in IF these days but at times I drop in to read the posts especially on such happening forums like that of Big Boss.

Today I happen to read a very well written post on how Salman Khan made a travesty of women's dignity by not pulling up Ali for his insulting comments about Sonali. I agree that dignity of women is sacrosanct and should not be compromised at any cost. However inspite of my own reservations regarding Salman Khan's at times lack of decorum, I had some grudging sympathy for Ali'

Here are my reasons.

Ali's comments were supposed to be private comments they were not meant for Sonali's ears. I guess he did know that his comments were distasteful and demeaning and hence did not have the guts to say it openly. This was meant to be a gossip albeit a dirty one. There was once instance when all the girls were discussing about Sonali in equally disparaging terms but Sonali seemed very casual about that. Women harming other women is 'saas bahu saazish but man doing the the same is outraging the modesty of a woman. whose idea of gender equality is that.

Sonali should have and is fully justified in having a right to get outraged but resorting to physical violence against a man just because she was insulted? Millions of men do that all over the world when they think they have been defied by or insulted by the womenfolk. That is called domestic violence and not bravery. what's bad for the goose is bad for the gander.

I know that this flippant attitude of Salman Khan can set a bad precedent but as a woman who lives in India, I can say it with some degree of confidence that the ladies living in the BB8 house do get far more respect and honour than they would have got if they were living with men picked up from the streets of Delhi, Lahore or Rohtak.

These ladies have the freedom to wear the skimpiest of outfits, share bed with newfound friends and even express their sexuality without being judged. Common man and Salman Khan know that this is not a realistic situation then why make this house a house of honour and dignity ?

As Jesus had once said that one who has never sinned has the right to throw the first stone.

In the BB house, they have all sinned. Why single out Ali?

Exatly dude!
100% agreed.

We are collage going kids and friends have such talks ! It not a big deal and the friend should not tell everyone about it!

I mean everyone does it yaar - Pritam Praneet Gautam and even the Old man who acts respectable also !!

The only thing is Ali is being targeted because he isn't able to recat the right way, all pouncing on him makes him react illogically!

And a Girl Iraactic like Dimpy taking advantage here :(

I agree, however distasteful what ali had said about sonali, a little discretion by praneet and later punit could have saved such situation where sonali felt insulted. The immaturity in contestants to handle diverse personalities is taking its toll on this season👎🏼

Very well said, I agreed with all d facts u mention. If women's talk can't be judge then it should apply to males to. Its a part of reality that boys mostly talk on such thing wic shouldn't come like a shock to d audiences wen salman mentioned "boys talk"

As if Praneet knew Punz would use it to his advantage... he didn't act discreetly neither did Punz or Ali... Ali could have told Praneet in private, and Praneet could have lied about it to an extent saying nothing serious or whatever.. but Punz know how to manipulate P3G to make them reveal secrets, well he uses everything against every1, so expected of him to create fights...

I don't agree to your point for a simple reason all the points you made were justifying a wrong action just because everyone does some form of wrong. But one thing has to be made very clear what is wrong is wrong in no ambiguous terms.

It is like saying because everyone does corruption hence I am justified to do so.
