I think Ekta lifts ideas from films also. Have u guys heard about the movie "Anjaam" which was released nearly 11 or 12 years back? There is a hit song "atthara baras ki kanwari chali thi, ghoonghat mein mukhda chupake chali thi" (for those who don't remember). The star cast were SRK, Madhuri Dixit and Deepak Tijori. In the movie Shahrukh plays the role of an obsessive lover of Madhuri. Madhuri marries Deepak Tijori. SRK does not like this and looks for an opportunity to kill him and ultimately kills him. Then, he forces Madhuri to marry him, which she rejects and ultimately both of them die.
I feel the current track of "Kasturi" is going in the same manner. But, the only difference is that in the movie, only SRK loved Madhuri, but, she never reciprocated his love. In the serial, Kasturi used to love Robby and this was not a one-sided love.
I only wish that Ekta does not take this whole idea from that movie. If she does like that, I will stop watching the serial. Let's hope that she and her creative head Nivedita Basu implement some innovative concepts and do not copy some of her old serials stories' or films stories.
