Should we pay for them?

Please don't get mad at me for what I say.
This was in a discussion in my health class last year, concerning old aged people that are sick.

My teacher said, should we continue to "waste" money on people consistently for their medicine for their life that will end in a few months?
Instead of letting them suffer for these last months, should we not pay for the medicine + treatment?
Basically paying money to make our sorrows even worse when they depart in a few months...

I was completely silent during this class discussion, not knowing what to say...

what do you guys think?

i think we should, as long as it improves their life-quality.
It may be slow and wrinkled, but it still is life..

I don't really know... I guess if the old person is opposing a threat to us, we should take action, otherwise they should be aloud the right to live!

In that case I would say it really would depend on lot of factors

do the elders want to be treated? a lot of elders lose the will to live, no amount of medication can help if the person himself is willing to live

do the children have the financial capability to pay for treatment?

what do those elders mean to those children?

I know some of these points seem to be inhumane, but they really come into play in different situations, and there is no blanket statement that can be made that no matter what the treatment should be provided and vice-versa

many a times I have seen elders make a request, I just want to visit this temple, if that is fulfilled, I am willing to die as is.

A friends father had made a request, all he wanted to do was make a visit to Haj, the kids were not ready to accept and wanted to spend the money on medication instead, their father died and later the kids regretted.

My question towards ur teacher is that when he/she gets old and if a doc tell him/her that she/he has cancer but this certain medication will make them live a few more months more will he/she accept the medication and live or will he/she give it up? doesn't ur teacher knows that everyone have to die? or does he/she think that they will live forever young?😕

A man's wealth is not the amount of money he has its how good his health is.

He knows, he is after all a health teacher...
and for the rest, I don't know what to say, just like how I have nothing to say regarding this topic...
