Saif Ali Khan seems to be in a comfortable space, both in his personal as well as professional life. His life in the past few years has been under constant scrutiny but ever since his marriage with actress Kareena Kapoor, things seem to be falling into place. As he talks about his wife, a certain sense of calm engulfs him. We ask him if he likes being married to her and pat comes the reply, " Yes I do actually. I was lying in a hotel room in one of the most beautiful hotels in London and I was really worried and was wondering if all this peace of mind would go away once I'm married. But it hasn't and I am very lucky. I'm actually really very lucky to be married to her. She is a really good companion and being one is also an art. You need to really not get into the other person's way and that rarely ever happens." Since his first marriage with actress Amrita Singh ended in a divorce, it is quite understandable that getting into the institution of marriage for the second time took a while but Saif attributes it to the changed person that he is. " Well I think I have grown quite a lot, mentally and I do understand that there is a lot more that goes into a relationship.
It's easy to complain. And if your basics are right, you can let a lot go also. It's unfair to compare as you will then end up comparing people which is not something I would want to do. But, I think anyone who lives with me deserves a crown. Honestly. I am not the easiest person to live with.
Kareena knows that and does it incredibly well," adds Saif.
While we are talking about family, we also ask him if he would like it if his kids Sara and Ibrahim followed his footsteps and decided to make a career in showbiz. Saif flashes the widest smile as he says he would be glad. " Sure, I would love it. As long as they are successful, why not! I wouldn't want them to be unsuccessful actors because that's not a good place to be. Yes, I guess, may be they will have the baggage of being my children. We all have that kind of baggage and that is fine. I would be very happy because I think it's a wonderful profession and it's really exciting. It's the most fun thing to do ever. It's the best job in the world, provided you can do it," says Saif.
