Get your facts right! No one except Praneet was speaking to Ali and defending Gulati by saying that "even you abuse Ali". Others were standing there silently. The while fiasco happened because Gulati started the thing with Ali and then abused him!

And then Praneet got nominated because of this stand.

If you watch the episode he did put himself on the line to challenge Ali behaviour even though I feel ALI was right in the situation, Praneet regardless stood up he did.

He didnt stood up for Gautam . He vented out his own anger for Ali
