The voices that scream behind bleeding hearts...
A lot of things go unquestioned... A lot of questions go unanswered...
All it took was a promise to bind him, so deep was his love, that with one answer to one question, he let all the other questions go unanswered. Rajat's sacrifice was ultimate. To agree to get engaged with a person one didn't love is a big thing but to sacrifice his love knowing he has a chance to be happy with Anu is beyond words. The knowledge that Anu's happiness would never be built on Devyani's heartbreak , forced him to walk on the roads of sacrifice. That shows the depth of his love for Anu.
I believe it was wrong of Anu to demand Rajat sacrifice his love in such a way or to take the decision of Devyani's life in her hands. It is hardly surprising Devyani lives in her dream world when her own sisters create a dream world for her in their own hands. Many a times we take decisions for others, thinking we are removing the thorns from their path.. But we never know that had the person in question known about the thorns, they would have chosen a different path altogether. And the decision to chose the path lied with that person (in this case Devyani) alone,.
Rajat asks Anu to get on the bike or that he would create a scene. His eyes are deep pools of pain every time she turns away from him. He ask her if she touches him would it awaken her love? A question that goes unanswered. The realisation that he is bound to another hurts him as much as it kills her. He is grabbing the small moments knowing that the biggest questions of their life whether they would ever belong to each other are going unanswered. They belong together and yet they couldn't have been more apart and it infuriates him. The moment the bike jerks to a stop and Anu is forced to touch him, as if to tell her that no matter how much she avoids him, truth will be out.. that destiny would find its way..
While leaving, he holds Anu's bag not giving it to her, telling her that had she come willingly he wouldn't have to apply force. His voice is that of a desperate man, telling her to speak out the truth, to give their love a breath of life because even though he has agreed with Anu's promise, he knows that lies cannot cloak the truth for long and he doest want those lies to ruin 3 lives in the process.
A few things go unsaid, few go unheard
He waits for her to confess the love, waits to see the envy reflect in her eyes as he holds Devyani's hand but there is more than envy in those eyes, there is pain, there are shattered dreams, there is a silent what would have been world' as she sees Devyani and imagines herself on Devyani's place. Rajat tells her that the place could have been hers but Anu tells him that many people are happy with their decision.
Rajat pays special attention to Devyani, in his desperation making the mistake of giving Devyani hopes but at this point he cannot see anything beyond Anu..., Anu in her pain doesn't see the intent of Rajat's actions- the intent to make her jealous. His eyes speak words of love but for her those words go unsaid... While Devyani only reflects on his actions. She fails to see the message his eyes are sending to her sister. She lets the words of Rajat's eyes to Anu's heart go unheard.
Some dreams are buried alive.. some are born dead...
It has been Anu and Rajat who have buried all their dreams alive. Dreams of a happy life with each other. But there is another person who burns silently watching the interplay between Rajat and Devyani. Another person who buried his dreams alive for the happiness of his brother and the only woman he has truly loved.
Neil joins them at the table and Rajat tries to make Anu Jealous, it is neil who wallows in misery along with Anu. The moment Devyani gives a tentative smile to Neil, her selfishness makes me feel she deserves the heartbreak that will come her way. Unable to bear watching his love, flirting with someone else, Neil walks off without dinner.
The game of truth and dare starts but the truth in their eyes remains hidden to the world which neither Rajats anger nor Anu's pain helps reveal. Rajat is asked whom he loves the most in this world and he looks at Anu, at his unquestioned answer, at his unheard word, at his broken dream with the pain that is similar to Neil's.
But then Neil's dreams had been born dead and somewhere down the line, as we know, so were Devyani's. The pain would come of dead dreams as we all know. But Destiny always has a bigger plan in store. With new morning, life brings new hopes, new dreams and the old unfulfilled dream and the pain it caused vanishes as if it never existed...just like a dream that is forgotten in the morning...
A lot of things go unquestioned... A lot of questions go unanswered...
A few things go unsaid, few go unheard
Some dreams are buried alive.. some are born dead...
That's life
