It was a powerful scene between Abhi and Suresh yesterday. Powerful not just as in Abhi showed his muscular powers on the poor guy, but Suresh had him go crazy as well- but it brought out so many jumbled up emotions.
Have many thoughts on this whole thing (sorry for the long post!).
First of all, Suresh creeped me out a little bit. Yes, he has claimed to not have romantic emotions for Pragya all along, however to think of it, he has behaved in a weird way when it came to Pragya.
Let me tell you why I think so.
I can't get over Suresh peeping into just married Pragya-Abhi's room (pag phere episodes). He was at his window, looking at Pragya and Abhi and sure he knew his love interest Bulbul would not have been there. Then why was he staring? Did he feel he lost Pragya to Abhi? The fact that he stays on staring even after Abhi removes his shirt and waits for him to do a mean gesture to shut the window😲. Whacky.
The next morning, Abhi again finds him at the window.😕
When Suresh catches Abhi drunk-driving, he lodges a complaint and makes sure Abhi is brought to jail without even informing Pragya. Yes, he was right in bringing a drunk driver to jail but given that driver was his best friend's husband, should he not have informed/consulted Pragya before taking such a drastic step? He even tells Abhi that it's personal for him to take on him (the reason being Pragya) and it was not about his sister who was wronged by Abhi's cousin brother.
And in yesterday's scene, I initially thought Abhi was beating Suresh up so bad that he had no chance to talk. But that wasn't the case, Suresh did talk but he said such wrong stuff. To tell an already infuriated husband that your wife has feelings for me and was engaged to me-rather than saying, we didn't marry because I was into her sister and never loved her. Suresh saying the latter sentence would have controlled the damage, but he just burnt Abhi with that feelings thing.
It's an entirely different matter that Abhi deserved that pain of knowing Pragya has/had feelings for another man given his own affair with Tannu. Nevertheless, Suresh should not have said that given the situation.
Let's not forget how many times Suresh has told Abhi he is lucky to have Pragya and how many times he has interrogated Pragya on her life/love with Abhi.
So yeah, Suresh, although comes across a genuine/righteous soul, worries me at times. It could just be him saying wrong things at the wrong time, nevertheless...you never know.
Coming to Abhi- He was being typical Abhi showing his insane rage and beating up Suresh black and blue. But what was obvious was the intensity of emotions he has for Pragya.
Abhi always wanted Pragya out of this marriage and this was his best chance. The evidence against her extra marital affair was so strong. Given it seemed like she dared to invite her boyfriend to her husband's room/house, anyone would have sympathy for Abhi if he did not want to continue with Pragya. Yes, Daadi would be devastated to know this, but she sure would not force Abhi to be with Pragya anymore. And Daadi showed her strength to handle stress when Purab ran away, she can handle this too, although she adores Pragya.
However, rather using this opportunity to get Pragya out of his life, Abhi first wanted to do damage control and keep Daadi out of this for now. When Aaliyah asked him to get Pragya out of the house, he rather wanted to show her his anger, frustration and disbelief to Pragya. He almost wishes all this had not happened. And trying to kill Suresh was not for Daadi at all. If his concern was only Daadi, he would not have went to find Suresh and even ask him how dare he sleep with "his wife". Interesting that he uses "his wife" all along rather than just saying he and Pragya had an affair.
Abhi was hypocritical in taking out so much frustration on Suresh while he has his own affair, however, it might be a surprise for himself that he did this. It was all very primal and instinctive. It brought out his attachment to Pragya, him actually recognizing Pragya as his wife and his possessiveness for her. I can say he is invested a lot more than Pragya in this marriage with her, because although Pragya has told us she could be in love with Abhi, it's Abhi who almost proved that he has very raw and deep emotions for Pragya.
Apart from these two things, what stood out for me was this dialogue- Feelings thi, Tumhare liye?-
Pragya might be successfully proven innocent in the recent MMS clip. But how will she get Abhi to believe her emotions for Suresh were not strong and how is she over with them now? Abhi said he has always thought there was something between Suresh and her (which is his observation- I have quoted some of that as Suresh's behaviour earlier). Pragya might have a hard time convincing him that she loves him and not Suresh!

Not that Pragya owes anything to Abhi given his affair with Tannu (Abhi (sadly) may not have to convince Pragya much on this front given she already knows the superficiality of TaBhi affair and she is a lot more sensible compared to Abhi), given AbhiGya are married and there are these strong undercurrent of emotions, I worry Abhi will throw a terrible tantrum on this Suresh stuff. Hope the toy car in his room has recorded Suresh-Pragya's conversation, which might clear a lof of Abhi's issues, but you never know.
It's very interesting how these dynamics will play out. I like the complexity of it!
