Difficult and tough I was proven to be

Even powerful fell weak in front of me

Occlumency is an ancient art of magic and has existed since medieval times.. It is a powerful act of magic..

It provides a sense of safety

Occlumency is the magical act of closing one's mind against Legilimency.. It involves clearing one's mind (making it empty and blank) against a Legilimens so that he doesn't perceive one's emotions and thoughts.. Hence Occlumency provides safety against a Legilimens..

Difficult and tough I was proven to be

The practice of Occlumency has been proven to be tough.. Closing one's ming against a powerful attack not only takes great deal of will power but also a high degree of mental and emotional discipline.. Not everyone can do it..

Even powerful fell weak in front of me

Harry Potter who was thought to be a powerful wizard also attempted to learn this.. Harry was not able to repel most attacks.. Later he gave up trying to learn it.. Every time Snape attacked him, he unsuccessfully tried to block them..

Rare and difficult I was dubbed

Occlumency appears to be a rare and a difficult skill to master..

Not found among your average stuff

It was not taught at Hogwarts and wasn't a part of the normal curriculum at the school..
