In case you haven't heard the fangtastic news, there's a new book series" based on The Originals ample rich history and bloody-yet-epic adventures " set to drop in January 2015. However, if you're as impatient as a certain devilish hybrid we know and love, waiting out the bitter winter months sounds like sheer torture such a long and arduous process. Thankfully, the fine folks over at Harlequin understand our plight and can relate to our unshakeable cravings for a compelling story and more Mikaelson family drama. And as a special treat, they've allowed us to unveil a sampler which contains brand new chapters fromThe Originals Book 1: The Rise!

The first harrowing installment explores how the vampire siblings escaped their dangerous past and moved to New Orleans in 1722. But just when they think they've finally found their footing in the vivacious city, things go horribly wrong. Klaus falls for a woman who's off limits, Rebekah infiltrates a camp of human soldiers in search of allies, and Elijah continues to search for a place to call home. All in all, they set into motion a chain of events that could bring their new life crashing down around them.

My review for the chapters i read in the book:

Just read the book of The Originals...i liked it and would definitely like to read more...yes there were few things that sting quiet a bit while reading...few scenes between Klaus and Vivianne (a new character) reminded me of Klaroline scenes but less irritating and Vivianne seemed more likable to me.

Rebekah's change in eye color was also a bit of surprise seeing rebekah's eyes are quiet a distinctive part of her physical appearance...Elijah's pov was veryg ood...it was exactly like Elijah is and i felt connected to him while reading just as instantly i did when i saw him on-screen

The story (specially the start) is the book is quiet different from that of show and that's because the events in the books have happened just after decade (10 yrs) of Originals settling in New Orleans while in series most of the flashback started when Klaus met Marcel which was probably in 1800s. The story starts right after Originals arriving in New Orleans and trying to make it their home...for now they themselves are homeless and have not made even one vampire due to a peace treaty between them and other residents of New Orleans.
