@Neerja,many times it has been discussed here that how romance has been reduced to more physical intimacy nowadays and we blame the makers for it but I think its not makers' fault because they get a huge market for it and many people look forward to watch it.

I think this topic about physical intimacy is now the trend and makers are in the race you goes more further . What kind of trash they show where one has to change the channel if your father or some elder comes . you get embarrassed when watching with family . I have read disgusting posts in some forum where i was intersted in the story but god knows the story took the back seat and it was just left where hero,s hands were and that kind of trash and 100,s od post only on this topic . As for i know people in India do not have time to go to internet to discuss the shows specially the educated or working class . ZGH and other shows have the romance which you can feel without going in to details . Why this is not makers responsibility to use their brains not the people sitting on social sites directing them what to show . And i will point the finger where the blame lies . Its all money at the end of the day that matters .

There are many strong comments on her this post including guys . Why we have abla nari who goes with her lave saga or if is strong one then goes over the top . Why not come out with shows having the story and end it with sticking to the story . Where is the need for over crowded family and at the drop of the hat some new character turns up just to drag the show . Decades ago TV shows were more progressive but now contents has disappeared . Not watching any show so do not know but there must be coming the copy cats of Pak shows 😊

I only know of a few shows u've mentioned here that I got glimpses on Sony, Starplus or Zee-was too young to watch anything beyond cartoons :P but I remember my mom watching Saans. n Malgudi days used to air too. Cant help but wonder how my life-or our lives wud have been if this old trend had continued and flourished (I m a serious serial addict since childhood-mostly K-shows, for the couple-there was hardly any story). Glad that old gems have been uploaded online like Rishtey, Hip hip hurray.

Cud anyone please give me the links to watch Kashish? interested to watch it but didn't find it on yt. Farmaan is there :) n Arohan too.



Before TV channels were for everyone no? There were family shows-drama n comedy like DBD n Hum Sab Ek Hai, Hum Paanch, even Shararat, Saans then children shows like SonPari, Hello Dollie, Shakalaka BoomBoom -cartoon shows-like good morning Disney, fox kids, game shows like Family Fortune, then shows like Meri Saheli, the good home show, khana khajana, n another cookery show with tarla dalal. Music countdowns-like one with Neelam, then thos Behind the camera shows like Pardey ke peechhey, Jeena isis ka naam hai---all in the same channel even during the initial K-serials. At least the weekend didn't have saas-bahu saagas. But now every day the same shows. n also too much of reality shows now. There r no horror shows now-like aahat, or supernatural like vikral aur gabral. Once Zee had come up with 64 pages story like Lavanya, Mansha. I remember I used to watch the first episode of all the shows-there used to b so much excitement. n I wudnt miss the titletrack of any show even if I didn't get to watch the show. Now they don't even air it,n also not air them. I m feeling so nostalgic. Wish those days came back. Sorry I havnt watched DD though. Not from india so we don't watch that channel here. But I remember my mom watching it once-an Ekta show though :P if I m correct.
Why is Sahara not a popular channel? we don't get it here but once we used to. n it had really nice shows-at par with zee n star n sony of those times.
But there have been some changes I believe, like Airlines is shown only on Sunday. then zee is back with Bandhan n Aryan for children though they don't seem that strong script wise-but at least something for children after ages-there was Apki Antara though they kind if ruined it later.

Btw I read an article that Star plus will soon be coming with some shows with finite series-upto 26 episodes long each.-Zindagi effect may be? 😳 Also there was another article that Zee Zindagi is bringing together Paki and Indian directors for some telefilms-I forgot the number. may b it was 6 from each side. n I read in some comment Mishal Raheja wil b in one of them. Also it wil have paki actors too.

So Zindagi definitely has brought some change-in the lives of the audience n also on the television onscreen. Hope this positive change wil grow in magnitude n bring some great news for the industry people n the audience. Watching paki shows has got me interested to follow the work of not just the actors but also the writers, directors n producers of my favorite shows. In India, I don't think apart from actors n to some extent Production House n the channel others r even known well by the audience. And there r only few actors who give more than one memorable character. Else their first/most popular character's name sticks with them. I hope these people get their due :)

Makers should seriously consider finite episode shows... never ending shows with daily unlimited episodes and no proper story are not doing any good to anyone...neither to the artists nor to the viewers...the best of the best talents also cannot deliver the best everyday...
I still believe, like all other industries, Indian industry also has some very very good actors ... but with a lousy script and no/poor storyline (along with other not so good technical factors) they can hardly do anything...

About concept/story...this is not possible that there is no creative mind who can write a good story with a fresh concept ... they need to be picked up carefully... but if a fresh one is not available (since we dont really know what goes on behind the camera and how
a team is selected for a show) they should just go back to literature...I would love to see some un-distorted literary works onscreen rather than trying out 10 shows within a span of 10 days and then end up with nothing (this is literally true in my case 😆)

Same i have been parroting for such a long time . India is a country whee is no dearth of litrary work but who wants to bell the cat . Look at saraswati chandra . just harakaried the story . and then Tumhari Paakhi , based on Sharat chandra,s novel , went logically and i was not intersted knowing the industry but still took chance midway and was not disappointed , and then extension again killed the show . We had talented directors , script writers and the stories . but before K factor . Some stats with good concept but then go for the already tested formula . So where is the creativity . Why go on never ending story ? why not to end when the story ends on a good note .
I am off to this area now . not any more interested . You have better English series which are crisp . And when our makers copies then again it really such a joke . Missing and Revenge is being copied . lets see when Castle , White collar , Killing , Prison break follows and then we call about creativity .

Sahara had very good shows and i just remember one show with new story in the episode and those were real good .
I was also waiting when this copy cat will follow and one has already coming .

yep...that's all we can do...but does not look like anybody is listening...about that show...no comments since I did not follow...all I know is my mom stopped watching after a week or so, who, I think, is a really patient viewer otherwise.
About copies..well I don't really mind watching good copies of some of the good shows with due credits given to the original makers...but the keyword here is copy...not some distorted illogical version...the sad as well as funny part is, as u said, they can't even copy properly.

Just a thought...may be we can have a thread with links to the good shows that are available online (hindi/urdu/english anything)...everyone can contribute and use it as a library😊

Yes why not . I go for quality shows . i think there are threads already
