Ironically Aamir has said many times on record he couldn't stand Salman in the 1990s 😆

It is the year 1990 (not 91 or 92) when the mahurat and actual shootings took place for andaz apna apna.

AAA took whole four years in making from 1990 till 1994 until its release date, mainly because of the film got stucked multiple times due to producer's financial issues (and not due to raveena karishma rivalry, which is a misconception, as both were newcomers that time and could not afford to do so at least with the movie).

I think Aamir and Salman not liking each other back then was one of those open secrets. The 90s were something in Bollywood, at least according to Stardust magazine lol. It seemed like every other actress hated each other. Raveena and Karishma didn't get along and were actually very open about it too. Manisha Koirala seemed to have issues with Madhuri, and then Mamta Kulkurani, and then Madhuri again, and then Aishwarya. Ayesha Julhka and Mamta didn't like each other.

Pooja Bhatt was her era's Ranbir Kapoor where her love life was in the news more than her career. And speaking of love lives, OMG they were such prudes back then. Except for Pooja Bhatt and later on once Ajay and Kajol got serious none of the girls even admitted to dating. They would make statements like "My virginity is my gift to my future husband." I think maybe late 90s is where attitudes started changing.

As a whole though I think India's perspective and attitudes about these things are changing. At least the way Bollywood is looked at and accepted. Kissing scenes were a no no. Aamir Khan and Karishma's horrible lets just put our lips on each other kissing scene in Raja Hindustani was such a big deal. Love scenes were even a bigger no no. Ohh and back then only bad guys drunk alcohol or good guys who were heart broken. Good girls definitely didn't.
