In BR Chopra's mahabharat characters were selected very carefully to make it look realistic.

The guy who played Arjun (Feroz Khan) was a body builder and skilled boxer. And the one who played Bheem (Praveen Kumar Sobti) was a national level athelete in his time. These people actually looked like warriors unlike the 6 pac models in the new mahabharat.
