I agree Shruti. He us not bad. But he is not as good as the role requires him to be. Where is that intensity? You act as if it indeed happened to you and your beloved. Then only it strikes chord with the viewer. Only sweet face is not enough.

There is a bookshelf ramming by Sooraj in DABH when Sandhya tries to consummate their marriage listening to his mom.
The way Sooraj rams the bookshelf shows his anguish to the core, the kind of disgusting feeling that his wife has not really accepted him for what he is, but just trying to do her duty as a wife by letting go of her dream. The pain his education status is the reason she is doing it comes out beautifully in that one scene and you cry for Sooraj.
That's the level Dev should have gone when he hears bet on Nithya, Payal given shocks and Shaurya going to terrorize Payal. He needn't have shouted, just a strong gesture with fist and eyes should have conveyed his uttermost pain, feeling of guilt and despair. But it didn't come.

Agree with you atominis! In my viewpoint, I don't think Bhuvnesh Mann showed any emotions yesterday. He could have had so much potential and showed great expressions after hearing about what Payal had endured. His expressions in yesterday's episode was not amazing, he wasn't really surprised. It seemed as if his expressions were just forced. Bhuvnesh is not such a great actor, no offence. He does not seem that good.

I agree with most of the comments made here.

Unfortunately it is a case of a bad match of a weak actor playing a weak character.

In a sense Bhuvanesh is doing justice to the role because Dev is weak, he can feel intensely but cannot act on his feelings and emotions. Bhuvanesh too is unable to show much intensity, he's just not convincing at all. Yesterday's revelations should have shaken him up , but we got a few weak tears. His body language was so weak.

It is the fault of the makes of the show who have sketched the character so poorly.

The day before yesterday, Dev was all over the place wondering how Durga knew about the cake with the vinegar in such detail but when he meets her in yesterday's epi, that has all evaporated from his mind. It's almost as if he had never wondered at all! How could that be, the first thing that should have struck him was the link between the Nitya and Durga.

Dev is an ineffectual character, Bhuvanesh is an ineffectual actor

It appears that as an actor Bhuvnesh is himself is not convinced of the love between Dev and Nitya. As the audience we felt that the love angle was 'forced' into the story or was just an after thought.
I wonder if the actor feels the same about the story and therefore not able to give himself fully to the character.

It also helps to have some lived experience of a range of emotions ( method acting) although not essential.
What an actor conveys is based on how he understands the character and interprets it. The director must / will contribute to this too and should be able to extract more from the actor rather than settling for mediocrity!

True. Bhuvnesh does not convey the pain that Dev is supposed to feel...instead me as an audience feels bored n the love angle seems forced. I dont know whose fault it is, but it seems illogical that Payal and Nitya's tragedy gets a few seconds of tears and thats it while if Mathur says Rajnath did ehsan on him he hets violent?
So his own ego is more powerful?
