Why is Ajay Devgan wasting his talent?

I just finished watching Raincoat a second time, and found myself wondering yet again why Ajay Devgan doesn't do films like this one anymore.

He is so talented, unlike most of the 'stars' that we have in the industry.

Instead he is doing trashy masala films like Action Jackson!

Wonder why he stopped doing art cinema?

He has won 2 National Awards and made 5 films that crossed 100 crore with his Talent

Some Actor have hits but are hardly called good actors

Some Actor are considered amazing but can't sell at the box office

When any other actor (Khan Included) has what has only then Ajay should be worried 😆😆

Or else Ajay can just sit back and relax and continuously cheat on his wife 😆😆😆

It's the money, honey. 😆

He has got the critical acclaim and the awards. He flies under the radar unlike the Khans, but dude likes his luxury lifestyle. He was the first one to buy a private plane among actors in India, He likes his foreign cars, has several, has gifted wifey not one, but two of them. Has a farmhouse, several properties in Mumbai and I think houses in London and Dubai. I know faltoo details like this because I follow his wife (see avi). 😛.

Films like Raincoat don't pay the bills. Singham type films do. Simple truth.

So, why are the rules different for Shah?

Why is he criticized for doing films like CE/HNY then?

Why shouldn't he also have the desire to make money, rule the roost, keep working and earning more to keep enjoying the grand lifestyle that he has?

Just asking since I saw some of the discussion on the other thread on Shah...

He is a sellout. Both a perpetrator and victim of box office battle. Few actors can overcome it anyway, and Ajay is not one of them.

Loved his work in Raincoat though. Such a poignant film.

No one is in the film industry for charity, most are there to make money. Ajay was technically an insider, but not a starkid. He is as fringe industry kid as they come. SRK is an outsider TV actor. Both succeeded beyond their wildest dreams. Both have production companies and have given their families lavish lifestyles. But the similarity ends there.

Ajay has taken risks in terms of versatility and critical acclaim. I am not a fan of Ajay, I like his wife a lot. But I can clearly tell his career is better in terms of filmography than SRK. He has also directed in addition to having produced.

SRK has a fortune above Tom Cruise. Around $600 million. Ajay has a fortune around $30-40 million. Both are nothing to sneeze at but I can understand if Ajay wants to make more, not SRK

As the saying goes "to whom much is given, much is asked". And SRK being where he is with the power he has can truly, truly make gems of films, even ones like TZP. Ajay's filmography has films that has been made for the love of cinema. He has paid his dues. SRK is yet to make that movie that is pure art. How much money does SRK need ? From Don 2 it has been a slide both in terms of acting, interest and choice. This was the man who made anti-heros lovable. Now it seems to be all about the money and it is disappointing.
