His insecurity ,his past, his love everything and he is messed up now.

Writers wanted to show his obsessive nature which has gone all wrong and too far which has no justifications now.
But there were two dialogues to prove his obsession
1.He was asking her to exert her right as a wife or as his kids mom.
2.She was neither lecturing nor listening to him which made him crazy

I think and hope it's love. And same time it's his insecurity that his love will be rejected once again.

it is love. he cant live without her.

Possiveness and jealousy are part..
but one shud understand why they behave that way... be supportive and give them a constant reassurance which wud help thme come out of that!!!!!
