I agree I too do not want to see romance between Vikram and Shobha.

Mostly because a woman, after being betrayed like Shobha was, does not need to
jump from a fire into a frying pan.

I hope this is a journey of a mature woman that when knocked down by a cheating
husband has the gumption to stand tall by herself and and show she can look after herself and her children on her own.

Especially a man like Vikram that has such a low opinion of women in general that it should not be Shobha's job to correct his idiosyncrasy but to show him in her own way that all woman are not the same.

Love for Shobha can come later when she has strengthened the ground under her feet
and knows herself better before she can trust the first man that comes near her.

It just might take a long while for Shobha to change her first impression of Vikram to be just comfortable to be his friend even , leave alone fall in Love !!

Well this is an Ekta show..."Should" and "Should nots" don't ever really get factored in much.

She's already sold the show as a love story of Vikram-Shobha so that is an inevitability...and she doesn't really have the capability to show much nuance so I expect a heavy handed/OTT treatment of the romantic track whenever it starts.

The issue is not about the monkey cap or lack of it...and I disagree that Apurva doesn't have any chemistry with Sonali...they definitely have chemistry and both are good actors...

Vikram is a very eccentric character, extremely neurotic in nature...hence the monkeycap, hair loss paranoia, pills etc...take those away and he will be any typical character in any other soap following the vapid "brooding" template of the leading man...It's one of the positives of the show that they have an eccentric/unusual male lead who isn't brooding just for the sake of the label.

Most daily soap viewers magically find chemistry when they see a "hot" dance or romantic scene or two...so Ekta knows how to hook ppl who are easily satisfied.

It would be worth the while to draw out and build up this story but I don't have high hopes one way or the other...let's see if they will live up to the original promos of the "unusual" relationship they are claiming to pitch b/w Vikram-Shobha.

For that to work, they will have to focus on a lot of character interactions, depth, nuance...but with the incessant KHNH track playing on every tiny moment when these two cross paths, I don't expect anything but the romantic angle kicking in soon enough...complete with jealousy cliches, third angles, the whole nine yards...

The reason why Vikram and Shobha are a realistic pair is because they don't look like they belong together. That's the beauty of friendship and love. You look beyond the exterior and eventually begin understanding that the interaction that began sour and bitter, is actually what helped you move on and become strong. That is what will be portrayed between these two.
Naturally, we all already know the story line, but what makes it exciting is to see how their relationship is built, and what situations it goes through together. Also, we have to keep in mind that this show has a limited bank of episodes. The best part about this show is that we are saved from the usual Ekta serials that get stretched to 5-6+ years, with 4 generations of leaps to keep the drowning show going (Pavitra Rishta as an example).

Personally for me, this show is a breath of fresh air amidst the usual dramas. 👏👍🏼

P.S. -- deep down I am REALLY hoping that Ekta does not decide to make this show "unlimited". 😆

Ekta really needs to meet a real life business owner and see how they act and are.

When I first saw the promo, I liked the pairing. Vikram with his glasses..the subtle way he pushes the candle over to Sonali...it was a nice scene and I was under the impression this was a mature love story...Vikram would be a mature guy

Instead I feel like I am watching some strange version of Tom and Jerry

OMG Yes! Took the words right out of my mouth.
