As predicted by ApunKaChoice, Shahrukh Khan and Farah Khan's latest film Happy New Year has crossed the 100 crore mark in its opening weekend itself.

We know Rs. 100 crore mean nothing to Shah Rukh Khan, who recently said that the industry folks should set their aspirations higher. But crossing the mark within three days is surely a feat worth appreciating.

Directed by Farah Khan and starring an interesting bunch of actors including Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah, Happy New Year opened to a mammoth start on Friday. It shattered all opening day records with a collection of Rs. 44.97 crore.

Fans say SRK's 'Happy New Year' will shatter Salman's 'Kick' box office record

The next two days, Saturday and Sunday, brought in Rs. 63.89 crore net, and took the opening weekend tally to Rs. 108.86 crore net at Indian box office, according to trade figures. This includes the collection from the film's dubbed Telugu and Tamil versions.

With this figure of Rs. 108.86 crore, Happy New Year has also become the highest opening weekend grosser.

Best Opening Weekend Grossers
1. Happy New Year: 108.86 Cr
2. Dhoom 3: Rs. 107.61 cr
3. Chennai Express: 100.42 cr
4. Ek Tha Tiger: 100.16 cr
5. Bang Bang!: 94.13 cr

Happy New Year has got mixed reactions from critics, but the masses seem to have loved the film.
