Having grown up in Delhi, we didn't have too many dandiya-raas celebrations. For us, Navratri meant a visit to the temple and puja with the entire family. Being part of a joint family, there were 11-12 of us young girls living together, all fascinated by the dandiya-raas we saw on TV, so we would buy dandiya sticks and try the steps at home. We'd even injure ourselves in the process. My co-star Neil Bhatt is Gujarati and an awesome dancer, so this year, I plan to join his troupe and learn the dance moves.
