I think the show is right now in 1569, that s the year Salim was born. That makes the leap about 5 yrs I think , as HH were born & dead in 1564.

ABHI filhaal to hum bhi confused baithe hain...har epi mein 1 leap bata rahe hai ...cvs hi jaane abh konsi timeline chal rhi hai !!

sorry yaar... dont remember at all.. coz each and every episode the took a leap ...😆 4 months/3 years/5 months/another 1 and 1/2 year ,,,,, and many more to come... lol... crap

I guess 3 years before chittor war+ 4 months in chittor war spot+ jj's staying,salim's birth in 1 year at salimchisti's hut=4 years 4 months at present. Soon u wl see 5 years old salim so total leap= 4 years 4 months+ 5 years= 9 years 4 months(approximately).
This is quite my own calculation its ur wish if u want to accept it.

Four and half years leap...
Hh born in oct 1564 and died in Nov 1564
Two n half years(serial it's said three years) JJ dint talk from nov 1564 to sep 1567
Sep 1567 chittod war strtd n ended in feb 1568- six months completed
Feb 1568 to aug 1569 JJ stayed in salim chisti baba ashram- one and half year
Now eight more years leap wil take place as shown in promo...Salim wil b eight years old
