Saturday Fever | The Distance
Happenstance. Serendipity. Happy Chance. They all mean the same; synonymous. One wonders whether one should believe this? Is life about series of coincidences, fate or destiny as it is referred to as?
What is it to go the distance? What is it to have the distance? What is it to create the distance? What is it to look into the distance? Reflection, introspection, aspiration are some moods that have something in common. The distance.
A song came to mind when I was looking at these pictures. The distance, from Serendipity. Yes, some songs stick in the head like memory that refuses to go away. Like the past that shapes us and moulds us. We could blame it on circumstances, on fate but one hopes for serendipity that would change the very course of life.

The sky has lost it's color
The sun has turned to grey
At least that's how it feels to me
Whenever you're away
When one longs for things that one knows one cannot have. When one knows, the distance that lies between the two people is unbridgeable.
I crawl up in the corner
As I watch the minutes pass
Each one brings me closer to
The time when you'll be back
You're coming back
As one thinks of the time that one missed. What ifs surround us, hoping for a second chance to perhaps change the very moment that makes us what we are today. We want to turn back time or wish for things to turn around. Hope that lives within us making us go that one extra mile.
I can't take the distance
I can't take the miles
I can't take the time
Until the next time I see you smile
I can't take the distance
And I'm not ashamed
That I can't take a breath without saying your name
I can brave a hurricane
And still be standing tall when all the dust has settled down
But I can't take the distance
When dreams that seem to be shattering right before our eyes, of hopes coming to naughts. The distance seems so much more from fulfilment, from reaching the pinnacle and one wonders would one last the distance it takes to get what one wants? Can one brave the weather as the seas rise and rock the little boat that is precarious as it is?

I still believe in feelings
But sometimes I feel too much
I make believe you're close to me
But it ain't close enough
Not nearly close enough
It is still the hope of meeting you, be it ones dreams, ones goals or the one, that pushes us to go the distance, look at the horizon and say, "I'll get there!" There is a parallel world that one lives in where reality is the very dream one dreams. The distance perhaps diminished and that is what makes us want to wake up in the morning and carry on.
Tell us, what is the distance that you would go?
