Dia Mirza Breaks her Silence on Boman Irani's Absence

Bollywood actor Boman Irani's absence at Dia Mirza's wedding raised a few eyebrows and created much hype in the media circuit. A few days before her wedding, Dia had announced that Boman would do her Kanyadaan. However, the actor failed to attend Dia's wedding as he was busy promoting his film Happy New Year.

It was alleged that Dia was quite upset because of Boman's failed promises and that she even shed a few tears. However, the air was cleared by Dia when she recently spoke out in defence of Boman.

"This is to let you know that Boman Irani is like a father to me. His absence at my wedding hurt him deeply, as is natural in a relationship that is cemented by deep affection and love. I know that you will appreciate that not only is it unfair but it is also further hurting to read the kind of strange headlines to articles about his absence. I would be very grateful if you would kindly place on record that NOTHING will ever come in the way of our mutual love and respect. And know that such articles don't do any good for an unfortunate circumstance," Dia said in a statement.
