"Some day, after we have mastered the winds and the waves, the tides and gravity, we will harness the energies of love. And, for the second time in the history of the world, man will have discovered fire."
Fire and Rain
There are some fires that even the torrential down pour can't extinguish, and that fire is burning up inside Raman. Our puttar is a ball of emotions swinging like a pendulum between his past and present. His past pulling him towards the dark shadows of misery, loneliness and despair, his present full of light dispersing hope, love and laughter in his life. In between the black of his shadow and the white of his light lies a place called grey where he lives his life. This is the place with no absolute rights or wrongs; things are relative and dependent on our perceptions.
Life is about timing! Yesterday had Raman arrived a minute earlier he would have heard the context of Ishita and Mani's conversation, and today had he stayed a minute later he would heard that HIS Ishita is in love with her Raavan! She loves her man who lives in the grey, she likes his brute force and fierce passion. She likes that he is man enough to accept his mistake when he is wrong and man enough to make others realize that they have erred. She likes him raw, she likes him brute, she likes him childlike, she likes him in anger, she likes him at his worst moments. She likes him for the man he is, not the man she hopes he would become! And that is Ishita Bhalla's love! She truly is in love with her Raavan!
Yesterday she said, I love you Mani, you are my Hero'. The words powerful and dripping with significance just rolled off her tongue so nonchalantly like she was asking for a glass of water. Contrast this to the balcony scene when she was confiding in Mihika, it took her hours of soul searching, her heart racing, her eyes moist, her emotions doing summersaults just to muster up the courage to say, I love Raman'. When those three powerful words mean something it takes a life time to muster up the courage to express those words, because it takes grit, determination, the courage to expose the most vulnerable part of you just to find that quivering voice to profess I LOVE YOU'. One look into Ishita's eyes and Raman will know where he stands in her life. Reminds of the song everything I do, I do it for you' by Bryan Adams, so apt for Ishit'a character.
Look into my eyes - you'll see
What you mean to me
Search your heart - search your soul
And when you find me there you'll search no more
Don't tell me it's not worth tryin' for
You can't tell me it's not worth dyin' for
You know it's true
Everything I do - I do it for you
Oh Raman my dear man boy where do I begin with this delicate soul, he is a baby that has never been coddled but has been burnt by life. He finally has someone who loves him and wants to coddle him and his insecurities but it wouldn't be life if it didn't have it's own plans. He vowed that he will not let Ishita break his heart, he won't cry but in that pouring rain the fire within him couldn't subside and out came the tears telling a story of his life. A life so delicate and fragile having gone through storms is now looking for a gentle breeze to ease him to the deep slumber of peace. Ishita is that gentle breeze that can sooth the fire inside Raman, it is just a matter of time before the gentile breeze meets the raging fire and create something spectacular for us to witness. Precap is giving me some hope.
Was listening to Pandora and this song called Words by Boyzone started playing, think it fit perfectly with Puttar's struggle.
Smile an ever lasting smile
A smile can bring you near to me
Don't ever let me find you gone
'cause that would bring a tear to me
This world has lost its glory
Let's start a brand new story
Now my love
It's only words
And words are all I have
To take your heart away
Raman now stands as a burning tree engulfing the entire forest in it's burning rage. But once the forest is done burning and all the old foliage is turned into dust, the ground now will see new growth, stronger than before ready to withstand any storms.
PS: My goal is to only explore the underlying emotions of the lead pair so I tend not to focus on the supporting cast even though they are all brilliant and make this show special. Hence I do not focus on Mani, bhalla and Iyer families. Also was not too happy with the technical team today, it was poorly shot and hurriedly written. Hoping for better episodes in the upcoming days.
