Prologue:
He glanced at her face, as the cold wind made her jet black hair dance to a chaotic rhythm of their own. She hadn't said a word for quite some time now, and the silence irked him. Usually he found solace in silence, but her silence deafened him.
Knowing that he was looking at her, expecting her to say something, she just looked at the setting sun in front of her. She rapidly blinked her eyes and swallowed the lump in her throat and continued looking at the radiant hues of the setting sun.
All shades of red, crimson and yellow. The end of another day, as darkness will soon embrace the planet in its solitude.
"Will you not say anything Ruchi?" He said finally withdrawing his gaze from the constricted muscles of her jaw.
"It was definitely memorable knowing you Mr Khan. I wish you all the best in life." She said her tone deprived of any emotion, maintaining a thoroughly professional outlook. With urgency, she got up and ran away from the man who left along to gaze at the setting sun.
While Rehaan just stared at the setting sun, hoping that with it, it would take away things that should have never happened. Incidents that should have never taken place, relations that should have never been given a name.
As he brushed off the sand on his pants, he wondered how memories are a lot like roses.
Beautiful, delicate, fragrant from far. Yet if you hold on for too long, hold on too tightly, they start to prick, a lot like the thorns on the stem of a beautiful rose.
Unknown to both the individuals, a well wisher with glassy eyes stared from afar.
