Is Haider considered Shahid's real comeback, not Rambo Rajkumar?

😉 I love Shahid and glad he has gotten his critical and commercial acclaim after so many years. BOI has downgraded Rambo Rajkumar's status to average. Is Haider considered his real comeback and breakthrough now? And Shahid will have good times after so many years of bad films. He is a good actor. Please share your thoughts.

LOL Gaurav, have you seen him in Haider? I didnt watch R...Rajkumar, but I'll say this - he was so good in some parts in Haider, which had the other two good actors as well(Tabu, KayKay) and a nice, different story - "plot", good picturization. It is a combination of these factors that rose him to a higher level. :)

Personally, I love Shahid in Ishq Vishq and had been a fan, I don't think Haider is going to take him to any new heights. After Ishq Vishq, many flops and bad films came till he finally got his Jab We Met and suddenly, people went crazy over him, stated it as his comeback and said he is now here to stay. He gave another hit with Vivah and Kaminey and then boom, went off again to his flops. Now it just seems like history is repeating itself to me, with Haider being his Jab We Met but is he here to stay? I don't think so. He might deliver a hit here and there and surprise us but thats all I see happening. Its not that he is a bad actor, its just he has a bad script sense and his hits are never sustained.
Just my two cents.

what do u mean comeback? he was there, is there, will remain there...
i don't think he is aiming for the number one position. We have all seen his acting, he is fine, but not excellent. That's the way it is... he is doing his best but hopefuly, Haider will bring him back to limelight...He got overshadowed during Ranbir's rise...they are contemporaries

Its not a comeback or anything of that sort. Its just his bad luck or his worst choice of movies that had kept him away from limelight for a while. He never had any dearth of film offers in the first place.
Just hope that he has learnt his lessons well and is going to choose scripts more wisely, which I think he will (from his interviews, he seems to be a lot more intelligent and confident than what he was few years ago) 😊.

R Rajkumar was a terrible movie. The songs were catchy and the dancing was good because Shahid learned to dance and it is a Prabhu Deva movie. It had all the bad cliches of a South Masala movie, not the good ones. His aesthetic is more South and it does not translate well to Hindi masala IMO.
Haider was based on Shakespeare and Kashmir and had Vishal Bharadwaj as a director. A man who has gone to Cannes and successfully translated Shakespeare not once, but twice to a desi Masala audience. It gave Shahid a really meaty part to actually showcase his acting talent and he went there. Fully, without inhibitions.

Haider gave him legs and credibility as an actor IMO. Previously I never liked anything Shahid did. It made me look at him differently. So from my POV, Haider brought him back from the dead as a barely hanging flop actor who was better as a dancer than actor.

Now that Ranveer 's movie is a BB she wants to be linked to him. I hope he learned his lesson with Rocky aur Rani. She has no shame at all. "...
