The role of Saurav is Nisha's best friend. Its so refreshing to see a friendship not going down one person being in love with another person...or jealousy...or any of that...I hope it remains that way...
There are very very few shows on Indian television that keep it that way...One of the best and only portrayals of friendship remaining strong was in Left Right Left between Aalekh and Naina. It was never a less important relationship than say a romantic one...It was one of the strongest and binding relationships in the serial...and never over done...and not forgotten either...They boith had different love interests and yet the relationship between the two always remained strong...
Im so happy they are showing a clean and yet special relationship between two human beings of the opposite sex...without any romantic connotation...That they are close, there is mutual respect and space...and very important to each other. I also like it, that its not overbearing...Saurav is not only with Nishu...or extra protective...They fight, they laugh, they are with the whole group, they are happy by themselves...
Im okay to see things go either way in the serial..Like if Nishu ends up with Saurav in the end of the serial...But I mean, only the end...Nothing much till then...Or they dont end up together also I'll be perfectly fine...But Im very glad they give friendship a nice place in a serial...
Friendship has a deep place and an important place in relationships and in a human beings life...I would hate to think that someone's role is of lesser importance...because he or she is a "just a friend."..
So basically, I think Saurav is like that part of the family...who is not related by blood...is not a brother...but is a pure heart connection...I actually love the dynamics in this show...between all characters...Which is why when Dadaji called him "bahar ke log" it stung everyone including Saurav...because as he said he forgot he was not part of the family. I think its very natural and normal to have that one friend...who starts of being a friend of one person, same or different gender. ...and then becomes like family to everyone..I know I have several such friends...of mine and my sisters...
