Chapter 12

"Geet.." Serry questioned worriedly, now concerned..what was she doing with Maan at the middle of night...2 o' clock, knowing Maan he would have been probably visiting a club, drunk.

"Uhh... I was leaving..uh and he-" Geet fumbled, unsure what to reply...she had never discussed what were they going to explain since they would have to live together at least for some time. She looked at Maan for the some excuse only to find him almost bouncing with excitement.

"We went on a date" Maan burst out, smiling so widely that even Geet's eyes hurt watching his fake' whitening and bright colgate smile. Geet was shocked, what the hell was Maan doing? Surely he can't behave all couple-couple-ish with her, they couldn't even stand each other's presence for God's sake.

"What the hell are you doing, Maan?" She hissed, subtly stomping on his foot. Maan winced hiding his hiss of pain, "Sshh Cutie, I am talking okay... Girlfriends should not interrupt their boyfriends alright?"

The nerve of that man! Geet bit her lip in order to avoid calling him out loud with a few of her choice words.

"That is sexy by the way..." Maan winked at her whispering. Serry looked dumbstruck. Maan never behaved so playfully...so free with his other girlfriends...not since-

This time it was Sam... "a date you say?" hiding her smile. Maan nodded eagerly smiling at Geet to make it more real.

"With Geet you mean?" Sam asked again, a smile seeping on to her lips.

Maan nodded again, now confused what was wrong now...was she this slow always? How come he never noticed...Sam should join special person classes, he mused.

Sam burst out with laughter... "Oh my God... Maan I just love your sense of humour... You don't have to give the date' excuse... I am sure it was some of Geet's weird craving at night, Isn't it?" Rose and Serry still confused...parted away, inviting the odd couple in.

Her eyes fell on Geet's bag which Maan was holding, Sam frowned...why was Maan holding a bag? "Err... Maan you were going somewhere?" Maan looked down, shit he cursed. Geet almost hit her head, snatching the bag from Maan... "No..It's my bag Sam.." Geet frowned a bit. Why was Sam getting so interested? Forget it Geet it is Sam... She is your friend... Maan's friend...Obviously she would be ...concerned, Geet tried to console herself. She didn't understand when did such feelings arise inside her...at previous instances it amused her how all the girls in her year used to behave, more like flock around Maan but now it...bothered her, irritated her. She looked at Maan, who was squirming uncomfortably.

"-leaving...I-" Geet honed in, as Maan went on rambling why he was holding Geet's bag.

"Geet..." Serry called, obviously confused with Maan's ranting. He was sure, something was cooking up with Maan. Otherwise Maan wasn't the dating' type, and Geet wasn't what Maan would usually go for. Either Maan had actually got serious about Geet or-

"Umm-hmm" Geet responded absent-mindedly still pondering, why was Maan eager to describe their relationship'. She would have left by now, if not for the bond... Back to her mother..oh God she forgot to inform her.

"Excuse me..." She interrupted dragging Maan with her, unconsciously though. Her fingers delicately wrapped around the crook of his arm. Sam's eyes almost burned holes at the junction... almost forgetting Geet was her friend...she was maddeningly jealous.

"Geet he is your date...not your dog that you have to drag him around" Sam said spitefully. Geet almost broke her neck, as she whipped around facing Sam, her hand dropping from around him. Maan frowned, what was Sam's problem...why was she being so..nosy?

"Wh-what?" Geet stared at Sam bewildered, her face scrunching with almost..disgust at Geet. Sam had never talked to her so rudely, her form crumpled ever so slightly as she shrunk back into her shell.

"What has gotten into you Sam?" Rose spoke for the first time, since the entire commotion started. Geet ran away clutching her chest which was throbbing in pain, due to the distance from Maan. The emotional pain too much...over-riding the physical pain she felt. Did she really come here on the basis of trust? For so called friends like Sam? How could she have been this naive... was Sam always this shallow and she was too blind to see it?

Maan whimpered in pain, but hid it successfully... "Hey peeps, Sorry to say but you see I can't leave Cutie alone... Knowing her she would be already regretting accepting my proposal?" Maan said jokingly, fist bumping with Serry. Hmm so Maan was really serious with Geet? Serry thought, happy now for both Geet and Maan.

"Proposal?" Sam blanched, her fists clenching... Concluded she is totally daft and needs special person advisor, Maan thought.

"Sam, didn't you hear what he said already?" Rose said calmly, rubbing circles on her back to calm her jealousy. She knew how Sam was infatuated with Maan...yet he never gave her that' kind of attention...the committed kind-which Geet was getting. It was almost astonishing how remarkably Maan had changed. Guess love does that, Rose concluded realizing it was true in her own case. How she got very tamed, after meeting and falling in love with Serry in twelfth grade...who was totally an introvert.

The girl is daft, Maan shook his head and ran off to Geet-only she could decrease this pain and may be he would get a kiss... Maan rubbed his hands gleefully at the prospect. Ahh, the kiss he could still feel her magical lips on his...

Maan almost banged his head on the closed door, "Geet..? Damn it why did you lock the door cutie?" He said exasperated, knocking the door. Geet slowly opened, her eyes puffed red with crying as she gasped in pain. It was obvious Geet was suffering more since she willingly separated herself from him.

"Cutie... cutie" He cupped her cheeks in worry, he never felt so concerned for a girl's tears what was happening to him? The bond may be?

"Don't cry please" He pleaded, as if some force beckoning him to bend down on his knees if only she would stop crying. He pulled her close, but knowing Geet...as clumsy as she was, her legs trembled as they fell down on the bed...Maan's weight squishing her body. Maan kissed her cheek and that seemed to pull her out of her emotional haze.

"Get off...you are crushing me...you big ogre" She glared at him cutely, hiding how wonderful his hands felt on her waist. The bond...Geet sighed. Only if Maan could realize, it wasn't the bond alone...

"Hey cutie, all the girls want a piece of my awesome Maan-ness and you are...you are sighing" Maan spoke, flailing his hands in fake admonishment.

"Maan-ness?" Geet asked incredulously, surely Maan wasn't deranged, or was he?

"No I am not deranged, Cutie" Maan spoke in a tone, I-can't-believe-you-thought-that'.

Oops she spoke that loud, Geet attempted pushing him away...he was really heavy. "Okay your highness Maan-ness get off" She made a last attempt still he didn't budge, rather bracing his weight on his arms.

"I would say guard your words... Otherwise I can have my way with you... I proposed to you after all" Maan said laughing, with an evil glint in his eyes.

"You-" Geet was enraged, the audacity of that man!!

"You can have your way but not on my bed, Maan" Sam spoke from the doorway still glaring at Geet. What did Geet have to tie Maan up?

In a mood to totally cheer up Geet and a jab at Sam(he was still miffed with how Sam spoke with Geet earlier) mischievously, Maan leaned in as Geet's breath hitched. With a husky voice, he spoke "If only I had known, my awesome proximity and magical kisses would make you like this" He licked her earlobe and got up as if...as if he was totally innocent! Sam was shaking with fury as Geet got up all flustered and immediately slapped his head, Ow that hurt...Maan glared at Geet.

"Cutie...we need to go from here, we can not possibly stay here together...may be my flat" He whispered in her ear following her as Geet moved to her closet. Maan was right though, there would be too much drama here if they live together.

"Alright lets go" Geet conceded, her closet was empty anyways. She just had to take the bag she packed earlier.

"Where are you going?" Serry interrupted as they almost sneaked out the door. Damn, that was what Maan was trying to avoid... He knew how protective Serry was regarding Geet.

"Geet will live with me from now on" Maan spoke coolly, avoiding Serry's gaze.

"A Live-in relationship?!" Sam barked incredulously. Surely if it was Sam instead of her she wouldn't have looked down, Geet scoffed at the hypocrisy.

"It is our choice..." Geet spoke bluntly, getting her bag and dragging Maan away.

"We will discuss this later on" Serry spoke darkly, as Geet scurried away...Maan following...relieved of the impending lecture...at least for now.

"You take the bed... I will take floor" Geet instructed, preparing her makeshift bed on the floor.

"What?!" Maan asked shocked, surely he didn't mind taking the floor but still the girl is outrageous!

"You can sleep with me..." Maan suggested, shrugging his shoulders in a way I-don't-care'

"What?!" Geet screamed, her eyes bulging out...surely he didn't mean it the perverse way, or did he?

Oops that came out wrong, but Maan didn't correct himself...rather interested at riling her up. "What is so wrong to sleep with me?"

Geet wanted to bang her head, and spoke ever so slowly as if speaking to a child "I am not having sex with you Maan...regardless of the bond... No love no sex, my policy" She glared at him defiantly. Somehow she was sure, he wouldn't force her. She trusted him, in however unconventional way it might be.
