Hi guys typing away from the phone
First things first. I shall be ending this ff in the next few chapters. I am going to try and get in lots of updates this weekend coz from around 24th there will be no updates for 2 weeks. I shall try to update towards mid of nov. then again no updates for 2 weeks. Will then resume update from end dec if plans don't change.
So try to complete this ff before the first 2 weeks of no updates.
Sorry for not updating yesterday... was beat.
Chapter 14
Gauri looks out of the window, into the backyard and says, "so you are telling me that Ragav has fallen for Kalpi." She turns and looks at Priya and says softly, "how did this happen? I thought everything was okay between you and Ragav." Clearing her throat, Priya says, "Gauri maa whatever happened was both our fault. We took each other for granted and drifted apart." Frowning Gauri says, "how do you know he is serious about her? Has he indicated anything... Because he has not mentioned anything... Gosh isn't she too young for him. She is still studying!"
Unable to resist, maya says, "exactly aunty. Will her family agree. No offense Priya but Prem knows about you and Ragav. I can't see him agreeing to this match. So it is not only the age difference that we need to worry about."
They all sit about the table thinking, wondering how to go about it when Sammy says, "you are all assuming Ragav wants to marry her. Don't glare at me. They have not dated nor do they know anything about each other. Just dancing together does not mean marriage or that he is in love with her," he adds as he looks at Priya. Folding his arms, he says stiffly, "it just means he is attracted to her... Not in love "
Sorry guys had dedicated the weekend to complete this ff, but my internet provider had different plans :(Pakhi looks around the table and hesitantly says in a small voice, "whatever has been going on between them, sort of started in January." Seeing the frowns on their faces and Priya shaking her head, Pakhi says, "I..." Gauri looks at Pakhi sharply and interrupts her, "Pakhi is Kalpi the friend you mentioned? If so, this conversation will continue in private."
Prem who had decided to surprise his fiance and sisters with a visit calls out from the entrance of the kitchen, "Gauri masi I too will join you and Pakhi in this private conversation." Startled everybody turns towards the entrance and see a seething Prem as he tries to contain his anger.
Priya waits until Prem, Pakhi and Gauri aunty leave the kitchen before she rushes to the backyard to wake Ragav and Kalpi. Her intention to warn them, especially Ragav.
Prem shuts the door of the study behind him, folds his arms across his chest and looks towards Gauri and Pakhi with a frown. Gauri anxious to get her answers, concern in her voice, she asks, "Pakhi the friend that", remembering that Prem is present, she stops, looks at Prem apprehensively, paces around the room, sits on the chair by the desk and sighs.
Pakhi seeing the furious expression on Prem is unable to contain the tears at bay. Prem realising that Gauri masi is not going to continue because of his presence walks towards Pakhi, his stance domineering purposely intimidating her, he says, "What did masi leave incomplete?" Pakhi looks at the floor, tears pouring out, afraid what Prem will do she keeps quite.
Prem grasps her by upper arms, shakes her as he demands, "Tell me! I will find out eventually and so help me God. You had better tell me and don't even think of lying."
Priya glances towards the sky, silently thanking God that Ragav and Kalpi are awake. Walking towards them, she calls out, "Ragav. Kalpi." Both turn towards her smiling, she notices that while one smile remains intact, the other slightly falters, She smiles back reassuringly wanting Kalpi not to feel awkward in her presence. Once she reaches them, she says softly, trying to keep the panic at bay, "Prem is here. He decided to surprise everyone."
Ragav stands up and says, "Shit I forgot about him. I was supposed to pick him from the airport." Priya looks at him in disbelief, says, "You knew! And you didn't tell us." Puzzled, Ragav replies, "Yea I knew, he called me last night when he was in transit. Why would I tell anyone and spoil his surprise."
Shaking her head, Priya thinks, "if we knew he was coming, we would not have discussed you and Kalpi so openly. Oh Gosh! What a nightmare?" "Ragav the thing is," Priya starts, turns when she hears a bang and stares in horror as she watches prem storm towards them and the rest following after him.
Oblivious to what is going on, Ragav and Kalpi smile as they watch Prem's walk up to them. Ragav says beamingly, "sorry buddy I..." Stops suddenly as Prem lands an unexpected right hook on his face. Taking a defensive stance Ragav raises his hands to protect himself from the next punch and says, "what the?" Just as prem spits out angrily, "how dare you sleep with my sister!"
Shocked that Prem knows, Ragav drops his hands to his side only to receive another punch. Feeling guilty he gives a warning look to Sammy who walks towards them to stop Prem, stopping him in his tracks, his eyes silently communicating with him to not intervene, allowing Prem to hit him. Holding Ragav by the collar, Prem glares at him and asks, "what are your intentions? Do you intend to marry her?"
"Bhai...", Kalpi says nervously as she hesitantly walks towards them, Prem turns and glares at her, says, "Kalpi stay out of it. We will talk later." Worried for Ragav and embarrassed that everyone knows. Kalpi feels further embarrassed and slightly humiliated as she watches Ragav hesitate in answering Prem. She calls out, "don't you think you should ask me first if I want to marry him." She looks from Prem to Ragav and says coldly, "You can let go of him. I don't want to marry him." Angry that she would reject him like this in front of everyone while her brother beats him to pulp, Ragav glares at her and snaps, "I don't recall asking."
Oblivious to their surrounding, both glare at each other angrily. Kalpi says, "good. So we are on the same page. You don't want to marry me and I don't want to marry you", turns and walks towards the house. Only when she is out of sight from the others does she allow her tears to fall.
P.s. Phew... Finally chapter over... Sorry guys for the unplanned delay... Please remember from now until end of dec... Updates will be scarce.
Hope this chapter turned out okay... I am not feeling this update :(
