Diksha has posted an article about Akbar. I wish everyone reads it.

It was written by a famous journalist Saed Naqvi and has appeared in numerous Indian and Pakistani newspapers.
The points raised in the article are pertinent. Many people don't realize it but Akbar is under continuous onslaught. Yesterday was Akbar's birthday, but who cares? It passed without mention. Akbar's birthday warrants a mention too.

But frankly speaking, I am not worried about Akbar or his legacy.
You can rewrite history but who is going to read the books. Most people find it a chore. Akbar's image is shaped by stories, legends and recently, audio visual programs.

Articles or books are soulless sheafs of paper. Anybody can write it, but very few have the power to coax you to read it and more importantly to appreciate it.

That is why the movie Jodha Akbar and our serial are so vital. There are those who target Akbar but how will you stop people from visualizing Hrithik when they think of Akbar, of the magic of the divine song Khwaja Mere Khwaja or the pathos of Akbar when Rajat emotes that superb scene at the dargah when Jodha was at death's door or Jodha herself when she wailed over her dead child. These are powerful images and overwrite just about anything.

I know the serial is at times so infuriating, you want to pull your hair out. But even then Akbar has been portrayed mostly positive. He has been shown as brave, fair minded, secular, a good son, a caring husband, a loving father and much more. That is why I crib about disappointing tracks or scenarios but soon I forget all about it and look forward to the next.

This serial is a bulwark against Akbar haters and I intend to support it as long as it exists.

The bit regarding Akbars bithday not being celebrated and another Maharana Prataps being celebrated by the PM of India has nothing to do with the show and has been edited out

Lovely post Donjas...I so very agree with you😛...Especially with these lines "I know the serial is at times so infuriating, you want to pull your hair out. But even then Akbar has been portrayed mostly positive. He has been shown as brave, fair minded, secular, a good son, a caring husband, a loving father and much more. That is why I crib about disappointing tracks or scenarios but soon I forget all about it and look forward to the next"...
Like you...I am still going strong despite disliking the way every track is ending (They start on a good note but end it abysmally) ...Waiting with hope for something BETTER ...Keeping fingers crossed😛

Why I love JA Jodha and Jalal are cos they are human above everything else. They make mistakes, they hate, they cry, they love, they are wrong, they admit it, they get betrayed again and again and still try to retain their positivity and spirit and they find each other and bring out the best in each other

I am not interested in watching a GREAT man from day one who was perfect about everything from birth - that would be so boring

It is from where they both started the hatred and how the love made them change each other and more importantly themselves that is what is so wonderful to watch

Inspite of the horrible tracks sick writers and obsession with vamps and villains and negativity - pathetic cheap tight fisted production house that gives them worse costumes than a Z grade movie and a channel that treats their number one serial with hatred - with overwhelming negativity that makes us curse the CVs - still watching till date for Paridhi Rajat Jodha and Jalal in that order

I don't know till what time my patience will last - cos if this package deal comes with having to watch Ruk for 15 mins everyday then it is very loss making deal

The points raised in the article are pertinent. Many people don't realize it but Akbar is under continuous onslaught. Yesterday was Akbar's birthday, but who cares? It passed without mention. Contrast this with the birthday of the great warrior Maharana Pratap. That day is called a jayanti and last year Narendra Modi attended the function. Maharana Pratap deserves it but surely Akbar's birthday warrants a mention too.

But frankly speaking, I am not worried about Akbar or his legacy.

Thts why i keep on watching donjas
Ppl like akbar should be preserved in our hearts and behaviour
Then only our destiny as a nation will change.
Im proud of both Maharana Pratap and Akbar..as well as Veer Shivaji, Prithviraj Chauhan and Tipu Sultan.
But irony is look at the trpz
Ao more n more these kind of serials should be made
Ppl want to watch JA.
I abstain to post when I feel negative but never leave the serial
