Hi all,
I just wanted to add a little bit o Sunshine n kudos for SSharad Malhotra, whose dynamic entry as the older MP has stirred up a lot of people...some in a happy n positive way and others in an overly critical n negative way.
So I decided to add my humble opinion to this boiling pot of happy or angry emotions!!!!
Let me begin by saying how amazing SSharad looks as MP. I totally love his look and styling and the mouchyyy is soo cute. Also love how he constantly twirls it...much in the Rajput style!!
It is evident that his preparation for this role is paying off as can be seen in the way he rode the white stallion- Chetak and the little snippet of his fencing skills we observed in the Maha episode.
I think the creative team did a fabulous job on his entry episode! It was pretty captivating and appealing. I agree in part that da running scene cud hv been shortened and a few parts totally eliminated...but most of the outdoor shoot of this scene whr he is actually running on sand is beautifully done! It is hard to run like a pro on sand when yr feet constantly sink in it. So I think SSharad did a great job making it look very realistic.
I knw that ppl have been saying that he has a chocolate boy' image. That is 100% true!! But that is only coz we have not seen him portraying a character other than that as yet. In BMTD and his (released) film FSWL he has played the role of a young man madly in love with his spouse or gf! So just coz we have not seen him play a more intense and larger than life role DOES NOT MEAN he cannot portray that successfully!! He is a versatile actor who is very dedicated to his profession. So we need to be a little patient and let him show another side of this emoting skills n his versatility. I knw that right now in the story he is only being shown as the nice, soft hearted, kind, caring and nurturing person, who respects his choti rani, his dad and bonds beautifully with his timid lil sis, who is very forgiving of Jagmaal's rude n nasty attitude towards himself. This is just one side of MP. But wen the time comes to show the warrior-like brave side of MP, I totally know SSharad will excel in that as well. He will amaze us with the transformation!!
When historians write about the great kings of our history, they mostly write about the big things in their life, the wars they fought, the victories they won, the wives they had and any socio-economical changes they made to their kingdoms. They usually do not give any details about the persona of these kings, their private lives, personal likes/dislikes, their interactions with their family or loved ones etc etc
But these famous kings were totally human and so would definitely have the softer, loving, caring, forgiving side to their characters too. So why do we only want to see MP as a warrior and as an aggressor! It is pleasant to see the softer side of him too.
Besides this show is not an exact enactment of MP's life. The creative team has to add a lot of fiction to make it a story, to make it viewable and appealing they have to add a lot of romance, drama, intrigue and comedy to it. Or else ppl will not watch it at all.
Also I know that each actor takes some time to connect with their audience. And this becomes even more difficult when the previous actor is well established and has a huge fan following. But with a little patience and time I knw SSharad will win over these fans. He has sooo much to offer to this serial and he and Rachana will create a lovely memorable chemistry between MP n Ajab and take the leap to the next higher level!!
The links below actually give another side of MP's greatness...in his personality there was bravery, greatness and extreme love for his motherland. But there was also a sense of honesty, justice, love and respect for his family and people!! He really was one of the GREATEST IN HISTORY...in all areas!
