PART- 26

COUPLE OF DAYS LATER:
2 days passed since that eventual night and that morning in the canteen. After that day she hadn't seen randhir in the college, no matter how hard she tried to ignore him saying "it's all over" to herself for umpteen number of times it was really hard for her to push randhir out of her mind. In those 2 days of time tears never left her eyes, she cried every second recalling her life with randhir in FITE. But it was of no use because she thought that it was all over.
It was the day for the final review of their main project and as usual randhir and sanyukta were a team and sanyukta was the team leader... that morning Sanyukta woke up groggily and sat on the bed with her head in her palms as it hurt, Because of excessive crying. Even then few fresh drops of tears dribbled down her face and fell on her hands. She smiled sadly and wiped off those tears on her hand. It was then her eyes caught sight of her hand bag lying on the table beside her bed... She took her bag into her hands and rummaged it till she got the crumbled chocolate wrapper which randhir threw into her bag that night. It brought all the images of that night to her mind again. She smiled desperately at her own life, and she pitied vardhan sir for bearing such pain from 12 years which she was not even able to handle for 48 hours!!!
"sanyu utto! Review is going to start in hour or so" koustuki's voice broke the chain of her thoughts and brought her back to world. She recalled how she somehow managed to post pone her marriage with sameer to complete her studies and now that it was their project reviews, and after that it was the DREAM TEAM competition and later exams!
"a month or so... Bas sanyukta! You'll be out of the college and thus no randhir in your Life anymore." she said to herself as a lone tear trickled down her cheek. She wiped it gently and got down the bed, she placed her bag aside and was about to move, it was then that she heard her mobile ringing, loudly and persistently, she quickly reached for her mobile and attended the call
"maa!" she exclaimed on hearing her mother's voice from the other side and as her mom spoke she fell silent to her mother's words but there after she broke into warm smile mixed with fresh tears dribbling down her face cleaning her soul making her clear of her thoughts and feelings.
COUPLE OF HOURS LATER:
sanyukta was walking in the hall way adjusting her laptop bag on her shoulders and her eyes were incessantly searching for randhir in every corner but still couldn't find him
"sanyu! Sanyu! What are you doing here? Come review going to start! Next is yours" koustuki rushed to her and pulled her by arm
"Wait a second koustu.." before sanyukta could complete her words koustuki yanked her to the auditorium
AUDITORIUM:
sanyukta entered in hastily and saw the professor's panel sitting in the front row along with vardhan sir, waiting for the next project review the room was gloomy and the only light lit was that of projector's. She quickly entered in and connected her laptop to the projector and opened their presentation. She stepped on to the stage and began to present their paper, but her eyes were constantly searching for him.
"So! Good morning gentle men! Here goes...!" sanyu began to speak but before she could complete vardhaan sir interrupted her
"Where's your team mate? Where is randhir" he posed with intense voice.
"Sir woh..." she stammered, of course she was clueless about his whereabouts
"Speak out sanyukta" he banged his fist on the table scaring her.
"Sir..." she tried to speak
"Sir I am here!" came a voice almost trailing off along with the rustling sound of the door! All the 30 pairs of eyes shifted to the door only to see randhir entering in with bruises all over his face and his hand bandaged up to elbow. Sanyukta was stupefied at his appearance.
"Randhir" she rushed down the stage and ran to him "ye sab...ye sab... kya hua randhir.." her voice trembled but he said nothing he just shoved her hands and stepped towards the stage
"we are going to present our paper sir" he said checking on the slides and they began their presentation... Within seconds they had a huge applause as they completed their presentation. And soon the crowd began to disperse as it was the last review. Sanyukta thought of speaking to him but she decided to do that in the canteen and began to step down the stage. whilst Randhir was still standing at the podium, lost.
"sanyukta!" his voice amplified through the mike "I need to tell you something" he said dragging attention of the students! Vardhan sir too stood there trying to figure out the situation. Mean while she ran to him and closed the mike with her hand
"are you mad randhir? Let's talk in canteen" she pulled him by arm
"Yes sanyukta! I am mad. I am mad about you. When I insulted you in front of all the students why should I say something good about you, in secret?"
"Go to hell!" she said and began to get down the stage
"Anything with you! Please forgive me baby" he screamed from behind. The last word of his' caught her ears and she froze at her place she felt 25 pairs of eyes on them! Even vardhan sir was watching them. She turned back to face him but she was astonished to see him on the floor on his knees! His gaze was stuck to the floor all the while he spoke
"You know what sanyukta? You are an angel! Your patience! I am nothing in front of it! I have feelings for you from day 1 but it took this time to realize them! My MCP mind is not that good at these things but still I teased you, insulted you. I don't know... I think I just wanted to win over you! But finally it's you sanyukta! You won! If not that night in vardhan sir's room... I should have never realized our bonding. Baby I am begging you to Pardon me for all my mistakes. I am ready for whatever punishment you give to me! But please don't leave me! I am ready even if you want to kill me." he raised his head and stretched his arms.. Sanyukta's eyes turned moist as she ran to him and fell on her knees.
"I have corrected every mistake of mine baby" he whispered in her ears hugging her back as she hugged him. She resumed back and faced him. He gently wiped her tears off her cheeks. He cupped her face and pressed his fore head against her's all the while her gaze was stuck to the floor! "I got to know how important you are to me! And I promise baby I'll never hurt you again and I'll never let you go! Ever again" he said caressing her cheeks. She shifted her gaze straight into his eyes.
"Say something baby please! I can't bare your silence" randhir said still his fore head pressed against her's
"Kiss me randhir" sanyukta spoke through tears
"sanyukta...are you out of mind" randhir expressed shock!
"Kiss me randhir! I said kiss me!" she iterated sternly.
"sanyukta.. Here? Are you out of mind?" randhir shreiked
"haan randhir kiss me! Here itself" she reiterated with her trembling voice. He didn't pay any heed to the surroundings he just want to live the moment and he kissed her gently on lips but soon they heard the crowd murmuring and moving out slowly even vardhaan sir left the hall trying hard to suppress his smile. Sanyukta was lost in randhir's embrace she responded to him equally and kissed him fervently... Making their bond even more stronger.
"Don't you dare leave me MCP!" she said
"Never ever farzi!" he kissed her again and they kissed till they ran out of their breathe. Finally they broke their kiss and ended up exchanging warm mischievous smiles to each other.

Days rolled and every thing went normal.! And few changed when randhir stepped down from captaincy and making sanyukta captain!...whatever.! after all, the day had arrived for sanyukta to cherish her dream.!! To make her mentor feel proud of her! To make the country feel proud of FITE.! The day had arrived after nearly 12 years!, and after the day that FITE won dream team competition under the captaincy of niharika oberoi, it was the day that FITE won dream team competition under the captaincy of sanyukta agarawal..! It was the moment when every one's eyes turned moist, out of utter bliss!
Couple of days passed and then team FITE arraived back to the college and it was really big achivement, it was the time to celebrate! Of course FITE had already started celebrating it's victory!!! But that day was something more than that for three people...
6th May.: 11 45 pm
vardhan sir stood at the railing, with his arms across his chest holding the photo frame close to his heart! He was standing there staring at sheer darkness for the past half en hour while the whole college was revelling in the ground!
"niharika, you know what? 12 years passed baby! And we won today! We won the dream team competition! Guess what? Team leader is a girl!" he said taking the frame to his hands and staring at the picture!
"i know! You're really happy for me! But i'll be happy only when you forgive me!" he said running his palm over the glass of the frame! And kissed the picture passionately!
"feeling proud eh? About our success, about a girl's captaincy? I know you will! but tell me one thing baby! You're still with me na,?you'll never leave me na? After all you promised, you'd never let me go. Remember?" he smiled sadly asking the girl with an eternal smile pasted arcoss her face in the picture!... In no time, the clock stuck 12:00 am and he took a deep breathe hugging her picture!
"happy birthday my love! I still love you niha!" he mumbled wiping the lone tear that just rolled down his cheek! "i love you baby!" he iterated staring at the sky that just lit up with thousands of crackers as a sign of FITE's celebrations..!!
Moments passed and he was still standing there with tears occasionally dribbling down his face, lost in thoughts! But he was brought back to the world when he heard randhir calling him from behind!
"sir! You're here?" randhir exclaimed
"what are you doing here mr.shekawat?" he turned back wiping his tears, to face randhir
"sir! woh... Actually am searching for you" randhir stammered not knowing what to say...yet, tried to sound stubborn!
"searching for me?!" vardhan sir raised his brows, and randhir nodded.
"interesting! Very interesting!" he twitched his lips and continued to speak "you think i believe in your words? And you think i do know nothing about you and sanyukta?" he stepped forward adjusting randhir's shirt collar!
And then it's randhir's turn to be shocked!
"sir!" randhir tried to speak, but vardhan sir interrupted him
"and what do you think! You both can sneak into my room and spend all the night reading my diary, and you think i still can't find it?" he said sternly! Randhir was then stupefied completely
"sir, we don't actually mean to..." randhir tried to explain but in vain! Vardhan sir said nothing, he just smiled patting his shoulder!
"you both can't be under my roof any more! Take care! you need her.. of course She needs you!" he smiled... And his words brought tears in randhir's eyes! He said nothing! He silently hugged him while a lone tear escaped his eyes! He remembered how vardhan sir was there for them in all their good and bad times and now that they were going to leave the college forever he just couldn't withstand the fact that they could never be with his favorite mentor and under his guidance!
"love you sir!" randhir hugged him and cried! Vardhan sir just caressed his back, making him stand back,
"you're not alone randhir, sanyukta is with you! stay blessed," he smiled again and turned back to leave! Whilst randhir stood their smiling through his tears!
Randhir's mobile beeped bringing him back to world, he quickly fished out him mobile and it displayed a message from samyukta, it reminded him that he had asked her to meet him at stair case! He squeeze shut his eyes when he read her message and ran down stairs hastily!
Sanyukta was already there, waiting for him and taunting him under her breathe for being late. a warm smile crept on to his lips as soon as he saw her! After all it was like their first date after their confession that day in auditorium and he want to surprise her that night and so he asked her to meet him at stairs! But he was late as he stood on terrace talking to vardhaan sir!
He knew she would kill him for being late, but still! He took a deep breathe and silently hugged her from behind scaring her out of wits and she shrieked!
"shh! Farzi, it's me!" randhir said in hushed tone. She quickly freed herself and began to hit him playfully
"how dare you scare me! stupid idiot mcp" she hit him on his shoulder..but randhir was smiling at her stupidly he just couldn't stop laughing at her reaction and her innocent face!
"theek hai, you continue your laughter, am leaving" sanyukta faked anger and made a posture to leave!
"theek hai, theek hai farzi, wait!" he held her hand, "come! This way" he said pointing towards the stairs!
"terrace?" she raised her brows. he just nodded and they began to climb up the steps, slowly!
moments passed and randhir and sanyukta were on the terrace standing at the railing, facing the college! Randhir locked her in his arms from behind! nuzzling her neck and whispering "you're looking gorgeous baby!" in her ears! And sanyukta chuckled!
"Achha randhir, ek baat batao" she turned to face him as if she had remembered something suddenly, he raised his brows smiling dreamily still wrapping his arms around her!?
"how did you managed to call off my marriage?" she asked innocently!
"how do you know that I did that?" randhir exclaimed
"mom called me that morning and had told me every thing, i was trying to talk to you since that day! But this hectic schedule! Uff! Ab bata what did you do?" she asked out of curiosity!
"i don't know baby, that day in canteen, when you said you love me! That moment I really was determined, to do any thing to hear those words from you, till my last breathe! And i know! That sameer! He don't deserve you baby! And your marriage with him! It's sheer my mistake!" he said as he lowered his gaze!
"your mistake?" sanyukta frowned!
"haan! Actually that day when sameer came to see you, he was reluctant to marry you, but i convinced him, just to throw you out of my life!" randhir muttered not looking her! And she was still staring at him with a stern look! And he continued to speak!
"But after that i realized, how important you are to me and what a blunder mistake i had made, i just don't want you to suffer! More over i don't want you to walk out of my life, leaving me alone," he paused to breathe and continued to speak! "the next day i left for sameer's place just to tell him how madly we're in love with each other and that's it! He called off your marriage!" randhir shrugged chuckling like a kid!
"That's it?!" she stressed
"umm! Actually not!" he drooped "he spoke all rubbish about you! It irked me, i punched him hard, and we grappled, these bruises are because of that" he said showing her his hand!
"Oh my god! You hit him?" sanyukta exclaimed and randhir grinned sheepishly! But she was still seemed annoyed and was passing killer looks to him!
"ab kya? I fixed it na! Just smile, now we are going to get married, and no more sameer in your life!" he said inching her closer
"bloody MCP! So, you're responsible for this mess?" sanyukta glared,
and she seemed to kill him at any moment!
"baby chill!" randhir tapped her shoulder
"chill?" she raised her brows and her anger was on clouds! With in spur of moment she picked up a rod lying aside and began to hit him, running after him!
"oh my god! Sanyukta! Will you kill me or what! This is our first date and i don't want it to be disaster! Sanyu, baby, no! Am sorry" randhir screamed as he ran to escape from her
couple of seconds passed and sanyukta stopped running, she just stood there, with the rod in her hand and tears in her eyes! Randhir noticed her and stopped running! He slowly approached her and made her drop the rod! She was still crying! He silently cupped her face and wiped her tears!
"what have you done randhir? You never know! How the hell i was scared envisaging my life with him! And without you! And you are saying to just chill!" she began to cry hitting his chest!
"am so sorry baby! I really don't know that i had done such a stupid thing and had hurt you that badly" then randhir's eyes too turned moist on seeing her crying! He just hugged her tightly and she was lost in his embrace!
Seconds passed and sanyukta broke his embrace! "What the hell are you randhir? I just couldn't hate you even i want! huh! MCP!" she hit him in his stomach!
"ab promise me randhir!" she began to speak again,
"shh..!" randhir interrupted placing his finger on her lips "i've some thing to show you" he said and fished out a small box from his pocket! He quickly opened it taking out a platinum chain, with a dollar in shape, letters R and S intervened with each other, it was studded with white stone dazzling every now and then when exposed to light!
"awww..!this is awesome randhir..." she exclaimed holding the dollar in her palms! He smiled and helped her to wear it around! It simply adorned her.!
"you're looking beautiful," he said, holding her from behind! She tried to speak, but was again interrupted by randhir!
"i've one more thing to show you" he said closing her eyes with his palm!
"ab kya..." she pouted...
"shh..! 3..2...1 and here it goes!" he said taking his palm back and letting her to open her eyes!
Sanyukta's jaw fell open instantly when she witnessed 100's of sky lanters tied to one another to form a sentance of "i luv u farzi" were floating in the sky! She was staring at them in disbelief, and raised her hand as if to touch them, just like a kid's trail to touch the shining moon!
"am i dreaming randhir" she asked still staring at them!
"totally not farzi" randhir tightened his grip and continued to speak! "farzi, are you listening? If it was not you! My life is worth less, i often wonder, why i hadn't recognize you before! Farzi, you know what? You are my chocolate truffle, i can never hurt you baby! And now am promising you my queen! Never in my life, i'll hurt you! And never in my life, i'll let you cry! If you want to catch me i'll run slow! If you want to fight the world i'll be your protection! And trust me! Never in my arms, you'll get hurt! I love you baby! Don't ever leave me alone and i'll never let you go!" randhir took deep breathe as he completed speaking, and warm tears dribbled down his face made their way to her shoulders!
She silently turned back and their eyes met! Sanyukta just couldn't find any words to tell him how much she love him! She simply latched her lips with his' as fresh tears dribbled down her face! Moments passed and it was the dawn then! Not only for that day also for their new life to live together forever for eachother, in love till their last breathe!!
