strange isn't it..I was never a soap fan and avoided Ekta shows like plague...but in the last one month I have met at least a few people who surprisingly have talked about Kasauti and Prem...may be his portrayal of Aahil has finally made people connect the dots...whatever the reason...they have piqued my curiosity and now I ( a not very avid soap watcher wants to watch a show which ended eight years back...lol) am busy searching for it everywhere..youtube, star classics, forums, daily motion...what not...but trust me no luck.
And yes I have heard the same...he is the quintessential bad boy of TV...the original gray shade guy...and he was so young yet his performance is worth a watch..he was a trend setter of sorts...
He was indeed a trend setter yaar...His appearance, looks, dress, rings & tat stick in his hand was indeed a new thing to indian viewers... Before that no other actor tried to be in that way...According to me , he was the first anti hero of those days.. he was almost a villian as prem..And his dialogue delivery was amazing..Sometimes his punch lines will make us laugh like anything...I think i seriously cant get over with prem..
Although KVB has half dozen shows in his kitty, break through roles were Prem of KZK and Viraj Dobrival of saubagyavati bava( Viraj was one of the most complicated character happened ever in the history of indian TV..i really dont think there is anyone else who else can play that character in that level.. Terrific acting i must say.. After receiving so many awards for the portrayal of VIRAJ(Including ITA), he himself admitted that there wont be any villian more cruel and complicated than Viraj). Becoz of his acting , inspite of being a purely anti hero, viewers were forced to fell in love with that character..I really doubt there wud be any other actor who ll dare to play the character of Viraj)
According to me, KVB plays his character in a different level.. Just think, at the age of 23 he was a male lead in Ekta's show which already had many estabilished actors like Ronit Roy, Sweta Tiwari, Czenna khan and all..Inspite of all this he became most appeciated character in that show... In that show KSG was playing a negative charcter(prem's bro in law, sharad married to Sneha(played by Jennifer)...kvb's finest portrayal of characters made him successful enough to complete almost 15 yrs in indian television industry...
