| Shilpa Shetty has been on one merry roller coaster ride lately. After launching her signature perfume S2 in London recently, the actress has been extremely busy with other projects.
Between constant meetings and rehearsals for her big musical on Bollywood, she's made time to attend a high-profile party hosted by Chanel's Karl Lagerfield in Paris and has been roped in to play Sita in Uru Patel's Hollywood venture Hanuman.
She is also getting ready to shoot a DVD series on yoga, is opening a chain of restaurants in the UK, writing her own cookery book, and the latest is that she will soon be launching her own signature line of clothing. Whew!
Designer dreams
Says the actress from London, "I will be launching my own designer clothing in a few months. Naturally, it will bear my individual style. That's what I am in London for, right now to discuss the details. It's a bit early to reveal things but we'll have finalised everything in a month's time."
Launched on July 8, Shetty's perfume S2 is now available for 20 (approx Rs 1,600) across stores in the UK, and the actress will personally visit stores for its promotion. "That way, buyers will have direct access to me. S2 will soon be launched in Dubai and Germany as well.
We're making sure that the perfume is affordable for most people and so far it has got a good response. It's classy and value for money." Next on the cards is a DVD video on yoga.
Says Shilpa, "My family and I have been practising yoga for many years. I might be producing the video (against the backdrop of the Himalayas) under my own banner, S2 Corporation, which will be launched soon."
Looks like life is one big party for Shetty. After all, she recently attended a party hosted by Chanel's German designer Karl Lagerfeld in Paris. Among the attendees were Hollywood celebs like Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton and Pierce Brosnan.
Says Shilpa, "I met director Pedro Almodovar, (German supermodel) Claudia Schiffer and even (hottie Hollywood actor) Jude Law. I wore an outfit designed by Tarun Tahiliani."
Apparently, good friend Manish Malhotra is upset she chose Tahiliani's designs over his own for the big event? Says Shilpa, "What rubbish! I was always going to wear Tarun's gown for that party and Manish had no problems with it. In fact, he's here with me in London. He too attended the party."
