'Reaction to KHNH was different to Ram Leela' - Kareena - Page 4

It is no secret that Kareena Kapoor Khan was the original choice for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ram Leela' (2013). The actress was unable to give Bhansali the block dates he required and thus the film saw Deepika Padukone step into the role of Leela and the performance went on to become a milestone in Padukone's career, winning her awards and accolades. Kapoor Khan says she does not regret missing out on the film at all.
"My immediate response is that I haven't even seen the movie actually. It really doesn't matter because at the end of the day... it's just a film. Probably it's also the phase that I'm at in my life," Kapoor Khan said on Zee Caf's Look Who's Talking With Niranjan Iyengar'.
When asked whether she felt the same when she lost out on Kal Ho Naa Ho' (2003), to Preity Zinta, in the early days of her career, the actress confessed, "Probably not... I was younger, that drive was there. But now I'm at a phase where I'm unfazed."
Kapoor Khan was last seen in Rohit Shetty's Singham Returns' (2014).

Am pretty sure she was affected by the fact that a film she rejected/ was ousted or whatever went on to do exceptionally well..That said, it all worked out for the better cos RL was a very badly made film IMO & it worked solely because of Ranveer & Deepika's chemistry ( and the trailer backed by a good album)..The fact that they were dating offscreen & Deepika was coming off a brilliant year helped in increasing the buzz further..All this wouldn't have been possible with Ranveer & Kareena..With KHNH, it was a real loss but Preity made for a brilliant Naina so i guess its alright 😆 Kareena has rotten luck when it comes to scripts..She either rejects the good ones or ends up doing crappy films helmed by directors or with actors who have otherwise delivered great films..Its sad though cos i think she is a brilliant actress..I'l always hope she gets that one film where she stuns everyone with her performance 😆
