Chapter 4

Yesterday was the toughest day for Sugandha and Navya as they heard a good amount of ranting from Anant after they have started with their "I am a modern mother, beta. You can even share your deepest secrets with me" and "What are best friends for. Mai tere preference ko samajh sakti hoon" respectively.

Like every Sunday, the Mishras and Bajpais have gathered for an afternoon lunch together in Mishras home this time. Both Navya and Sugandha had worried expression on their faces thinking about how weird they can really think about him while the rest were involved in a light conversation.

"Good afternoon, everyone!" Entered Anant and reciprocated with a small smile as all greeted him back, intentionally ignoring her mother and best friend's faint smiles and sat beside Mohan.

They began their lunch.

"Ahh beta Anant, zara dal pass karna." Smiled Sugandha at his angry son who rolled his eyes and asked Mohan to pass it on to her.

Sugandha and Navya exchanged a glance like his-anger-mode-is-still-on. Navya blinked her eyes, giving her silent hope that now she will try something.

"Vo aloo ki sabzi zara pass karna, Anant."

He gazed at her sharply and then gave a look at the asked dish which was kept right infront of her and she is still asking for it to pass on. She smiled in a sheepish way and took it, putting some in her plate with the lowest speed possible. Sugandha kept her hand over her chin worriedly.

Om and Mohan exchanged a glance this time like something is really going on which they have no idea. As everyone were half done, Navya eyes suddenly popped out as she felt someone's toes lingering on her right leg. She composed herself and then looked at Anant who was sitting infront of her with no particular expression and busy in eating food. Her eyes fell upon Mohan now who was having a secret eye conversation with Renuka and she was smiling shyly all the while. Navya was quick to understand the scenario and a naughty smile appeared on her face.

"Maa, main thodi aur rice leke aati hoon." Said Renuka and got up tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. Mohan was out of his trance now and realized that it was not Renuka's leg; he was lingering on but of someone else's and looked up to find Navya smiling at him in a way like he-is-caught. Mohan whispered sorry sheepishly and pleaded her to keep quite while Navya nodded her head obediently.

After having lunch, the Bajpais got up to go. As they proceed to go, Sugandha stopped and turned back.

"Navya, beta lagta hain Anant kuch zyada hi naraz ho gaya hai humse. Humne asa soch bhi kaise liye?"

"Vahi toh choti maa, humne kal puri sham usse sorry bola par janab ka gussa ab tak saatve aasman par hain. Lekin ab na ye kuch zyada hi bhao kha raha hain. Aap tension mat lijiye, mai isko sambhal lungi. Thoda aur akdega par baad mein maan jayega."

Navya assured Sugandha with a smile while she caressed her cheek in affection and left along with the others.

"Lekin use pehle mujhe kisi aur ki bhi khabar leni hain." She thought as a wicked smile appears on her lips.

"Ye sab kab tak chalega, Anant." Said Navya as she sat infront of him in the canteen.

She was talking about Mohan and Renuka who were in a relation from past 6 months. Renuka is a shy, introvert girl unlike Navya. She is really scared to confess their love infront of her family and has stopped Mohan as well to talk about it to his family as she thinks that if they get unhappy with the decision then it might affect their family friendship.

"Arae parso se hi se toh shuru kia hain, itni jaldi nai khatam hone wala." Replied Anant talking about his ignoring to her as he sits back folding his arms under his chest unaware about what Navya is talking about.

"Parso se kaha Anant, pure chae mahine ho chuke hain." Navya showed 6 fingers towards him.

"Kya? Chae mahine? Par maine toh tujhe parso se hi ignore karna start kia hain." He came forward with a confused face.

"What ignore?" Navya asked with same confusion. "Tum pagal ho. I am talking about Mohan bhai and Renu Di. They are committed from past 6 months."

She told him everything regarding her Di's fear and they should help them. Anant was surprised at first but then smiled nodding his head in approval.

"Par bhai ne mujhse aaj tak kabhi koi baat nahi chupai, phir itni badi baat."

"Same here Anant, Di ne bhi hamsha mujhse saari baatein share ki hai lekin main samajh sakti hoon, unhe khud hi shayad samajh nahi aaya hoga ki kab unhe pyaar ho gaya." Navya said with a dreamy smile.

"Tujhe bada pata hain pyar vyaar ke baarein main." He teased her nuzzling his elbow in her arm.

"Chup raho! Zayada mat bolo.I am just assuming okay." She said looking sideways hiding her embarrassment.

"By the way tujhe laga main tujhse phirse maafi mangne aayi hoon?" She looked at him with a smirk.

"Haan toh main tujhe ab bhi IGNORE kar raha hoon samjhi." He turned his face sideways in fake anger after emphasizing on the word ignore.

"Ya right! Vo toh mujhe dikh raha hain. Agar ignore kar raha hota, toh mere saath baithke baatein nahi kar raha hota." She mocked him as she had trapped him in his own words.

"Huh! Mai jaa raha hoon. Bye." He got up making a face and went from there leaving a laughing Navya behind him. She knew that he can never be angry on her for a long time.

Note: Guys I am thinking of discontinuing this FF as it seems like you are not liking this story and as a result it is getting so less likes n comments. Thanks to those who have liked n supported this story till now but I don't want to get disappointed by writing a chap for hours and then getting no reviews.
