Chapter 7
Hours passed and soon moon hid to give room to sun in the sky. The sun risen to say it's a new day.
Yash opened his eyes to see his loving wife, his friend Aarthi, sleeping beside him. He got lost on her for a while. He unknowingly started to stare at her...
Aarthi stirred in her sleep brought Yash to earth. Yash remembered the things happened yesterday.
"For today, it will be one month for Chote's death. How can I ever think he's no more.. Why the FATE was so cruel. First Fate took away Arpitha,,, Then Chote... I lost my life and Aarthi too lost her.."
"Good morning Yash."
"Good morning Aarthi."
"Where were you lost in Yash?"
"Nothing Aarthi.. I just remembered some office work."
"Oh... Ok I'll make your coffee. You get ready and go to office and finish it."
"Ok Aarthi..."
"Ma!! MA must be crying now over chote... It was hard for me to comfort Aarthi. If she sees ma now she will cry again and that will not good for the baby and her life. OH God what a situation am I in?" Thought Yash.
Aarthi was about to step out of the room.
"NO!."Yash shouted.
"Yash are you ok?"
"ha.. ha.. I'm ok Aarthi.. I don't need coffee. I'm not going to the office.. I mean I can do it from home."
"Why suddenly Yash? Are you ok? Are you sick?" She kept her hand on Yash's forehead to check.
"Nothing I'm ok. I told you na that Iwant to spend time with you. You go and have a wash. I'll make coffee and breakfast for both of us. We'll have it in our balcony. Baby would love it."
"Ok Yash.. As you wish. But I feel that you better take rest."
"Aarthi I'm fine. It's just I want to spend time with my wife and baby. So go now and have a wash and come."
Aarthi went to the washroom.
"I just saved her this time.. What shall I do rest of the day? How can I divert her mind? Ma... I need to take care of her too. Pratheik, help me now. Help your bhai. Two loved ones on your life are in pain today."
In the bathroom Aarthi.
"It is just a month for today Pratheik. How can I forget you? Your bhai is trying his best to comfort me. He too must be in pain as I know you both loved each other... Prathiek, you went away when I needed you most ...". She started to cry.
"It will only put baby's life in danger." The words of Yash started to haunt her.
"No, I will not our baby's life in danger... But how will I suppress this pain Pratheik? ... I'll... go... to the Mandir today also. Yesterday when I went there my mind was at peace. Going there would help me to fight with this pain and save our baby."
She stood up and washed herself and came out.
Yash came with their breakfast which he arranged in their balcony. Soon Yash and Aarthi sat for breakfast as soon as Yash had his wash.
"Wow,, today you look so beautiful Aarthi."
"Thank you Yash."Aarthi smiled but her puffed eyes were enough for Yash to know she has cried in the bathroom.
They sat for the breakfast.
Aarthi start to play with her food. She had no appetite. She was lost in Pratheik.
"Aarthi are you ok?"
"Yes, why Yash?"
" Don't you like the food? Shall I make something else for you?"
"No Yash. I love this food..."
Aarthi looked down.
"Aarthi, I know what's bothering you? It's Pratheik. Right????"
Aarthi nodded.
She looked at him with her sad eyes.
"Yash, I'm sorry.. I tried.."
"SH!! I know Aarthi .. I know.." He said holding her hands.
"Yash, I know how you love your brother? How are you staying so strong?"
"Yes, I loved him and still love him and I will love him till I die. It's still hard for me to believe he's no more. He may be not with us in physically but he lives in my heart." He said touching his heart.
"Pratheik always wanted to see all who lived around him happy. He never wanted to make others sad. If I keep mourning over his death he won't be able to rest in peace and plus I had to be a strength for our mom. For mom , it's not an easy thing, to bear to see the death of her son whom she carried in her womb for nine months. She fought for us in life as we lost our father in our early ages. After all she lost her chote... If I break down she won't be able to control" He said aloud
"And neither will you Aarthi ,as you loved him so much. It's so hard to suppress this pain but I'm doing this for all.. I know Pratheik does not like to see tears in anyone's eyes." Thought Yash.
" You are right Yash, but suppressing the pain is not good. I know you are in pain. Why don't you share it? You are also a human just like others."
Yash looked down.
"Let's finish the breakfast Aathi. Baby must be hungry now."
"Don't try to avoid my question Yash. Ok if you do not like to share it with me. Go and share it with one of your friend at least."
"Aarthi, food is getting cold."
" It's no use of talking you this topic Yash. To save me and my baby you are suppressing your pain..."Thought Aarthi.
"Yash, shall we go to the mandir? We'll take ma also. I want to go there as a family."
"Ok Aarthi, I'll ask ma to join us. Now finish your food and get ready."
They had their breakfast silently.
"You are doing so much for us Yash, though you are in pain. I want to help you too, to get out of the pain Yash. I'm in that pain too Yash so I can understand it. We both loved Prathiek immensely and I know you are hiding the pain and living for us. Pratheik was right about you. He always said you are so good. I need to get you out of this Yash. Mandir will help you as it helped me. Pratheik, I too will take care of bhai. I won't be able to do as you did but I will try my best.."
As per Aarthi's wish three of them went to Mandir which helped three of them to have peace in their minds.
Aarthi and Yash passed the most painful day with the help of each other...
Soon weeks flew by and it was time to go for Aarthi's check up.
"Aarthi, are you ready?"
"Yes, Yash."
"Ok, then let's go soon."
"Yash, Yash.."
"Yes Aarthi, Are you ok?"
"I'm fine Yash. Yash I need a promise."
"What promise Aarthi?"
"Whatever doctor say, you have to save the baby. Not me."
"No way Aarthi."
"Please I can't abort my baby at any cost. How can I kill my own baby?"
"Aarthi, first we'll listen to doctor.. Then we'll decide. Tell me you believe in God na?"
"Yes"
"Then you know whatever he gives for our own good. Have you heard every dark cloud has a silver line?"
"Yes.."
"Ok.. If it is his will for baby to be born, doctor will say so. If it is not his will, we have to accept that also. Coz we don't know the future, only he knows. He only knows what is good for all of us."
"But Yash?"
"Aarthi, if there is a circumstance situation, that you have to choose me or baby what will you do?"
"What question is that, Yash?"
"If you feel like that way please don't put me into that situation Aarthi. You both are important for me. I too depend on God for both of your lives but I cannot choose baby over you."
"Yash.."
"Come Aarthi.. You shouldn't be hungry. Let's go and eat something."
"Ok.. Yash.."
"Smile, my dear friend.. everything will be fine. Be positive. God is in our side I feet that."
Aarthi smiled.
Yash put his hand over her shoulder and went down.
"Aarthi, I'm also begging God to save you both. If I can give my life to save you both I would have done but I'm helpless... Hope God won't fail us this time... Please God save both of them... please I beg you." Thought Yash.
"Yash always has his way to talk with me. I cannot ever win with him. Hope reports will be fine this time as I don't want to lose mine and Pratheik's last symbol. Please God make it all right.." Prayed Aarthi silently.
"Wow...Jalebi..." Said Aarthi taking jalebi.
She put it to her mouth and started to enjoy. Yash and Gayathri ma smiled seeing her.
"Do you like Jalebi beta?"
"I was not but I want now.."
"Oh!! That is pregnancy cravings.. Have these all. Just let me know what you like I will make it for you."
"Ok ma."
After they had breakfast Yash and Aarthi got ready to leave for clinic.
"Wait beta."
They both stopped.
"Let's go to the prayer room and pray for God's blessing. I know God will bless you both and everything will be fine."
So they took the blessings of God and ma and left.
Aarthi was disturbed with her doubts and she couldn't sit in one place. Yash noticed it and parked the car.
"Why Yash?"
He just adjusted her seat.
"You were uncomfortable na? Now relax properly."
"I was comfortable earlier also." Replied Aarthi.
Yash smiled at her.
"Then is your mind paying games with you?"
"No.. nothing like that.."
"Aarthi, everything will be fine. Relax. Keep your hand on baby. Baby will help you to relax."
Aarthi nodded and kept her hand on her stomach.
Yash started to drive again.
Soon they both reached the clinic and Aarthi went through the tests.
They had to wait for some time for reports.
"Yash, if you are getting late for office, please go.. I can manage."
"Aarthi nothing is more important for me than my wife or baby. I'm waiting here ,even you chase me. So no argument."
Aarthi smiled.
"Ok then hubby..I won't argue. " They both laughed.
Precap - Meeting the doctor.. What will she say? Will Aarthi be able to continue her pregnancy?
