Most of the times I see sad love stories are what people find pleasure in. Why? MATH isn't a happy one too, and Ranveer's love is the best thing of this story; but still, it's full of sadness and heartbreak. Why is it the show keeps the viewer hooked to it because one character: Ranveer? Also, in general, the loves stories a person loves is are the ones that are tragic. The height of this likeness is Aashiqui 2. Sorry, no offence meant, but the tragic ending of the film was absolutely crazy. Most of my friends are mad for the film. It has everything to do with Science, Philosophy and Psychology. Any thoughts??

The sadness and emptiness which is often felt by the majority of ppl is so great that they think nothing is perfect , and becoz of d sadness n emptiness ppl go to passionate levels to get that happiness n fullfillness . similarly a tragic love story is so painful and passionate that it becomes very easy for ppl to connect to it. And moreover who doesn't like a passionate painful romance with immense love in it.

Philosophically very few people have accomplishments in life. To have a self satisfaction, self esteem and a sense of achievements they connect themselves strongly with the person who is being wronged and show empathy. Psychologically this empathy is a sense of achievement and a reason to some fulfilment of life by thinking that justice is done. That is the reason most of the people like tragic stories and movies.

I think its the unfinished business of unrequited love that strikes a cord somewhere. A happy ending means a resolution, a tragic ending never ends. hence becomes immortal. That's why stories like Romeo Juliet, Heer Ranjha survive through centuries.

In most of the sad stories u can see lover sacrificing himself / herself for his / her love .It proves that their love for someone is infinite ,He/She loves her soo much that they can do anything for him / her . This is what gives us pleasure !
