Price of Love- Dev's decision

I guess everyone in this forum including myself were never satisfied with the explanation Dev gave for his absence during Payal's trial.

Dr Dayal gave Dev the realization of his folly in the most harshest manner possible. Dev was going around telling he loves Nithya he loves Nithya. But what was Nithya's expectation from him. She never expected him to propose her or marry her, but she expected her best friend to be there for her when he needed him the most. But he was not there. His family hounded her and she went through experiences that has written horror all over it. Now this guy at his own convenience coming and telling I will make everything right. Dr Dayal's words that his love can be one sided and she does not want to come because he was not there for at the hour of need.

Dr Dayal revealed enough for Dev to take decision. He told he and Durga are doing things for Nithya and gave him 2 choices.

- Either sit with the locket, sing songs and claim to love Nithya or Join the fight as Durga's husband and deliver on the promise he has given to Nithya as a friend.

In other words he asked him to sacrifice his love and give her what she wanted and expected from him.

Because true love is not holding on to someone, but letting go and allowing the other person the choice.

Dev took the second option the most difficult one as for him the marriage is real, he can never get the woman he loves as his life partner. She will always remain his friend.

In one stroke Dr Dayal killed Nithya's Dev and made him suitable for Durga. Sakshi in her euphoria didn't see the mask that had come over Dev. Each of his dialogue was double edged. He realized his silence during rape case has cost him his love. Shaurya did the non sense and he was expected to do damage control so that family's reputation is not spoiled never matter what his personal feelings were. No one will blame Shaurya as he is supposed to be the little one and prone to mistakes. Anything he does is only mistake whether rape , whether walking out of mandap. Dev needs to understand and support him.

The man who told the pandit " Vidhi shooro kijiyee" has nothing left in him. No feelings, no emotions just a sense of purpose that whatever he was doing will ultimately give justice to Nithya his best friend.

Certain things people do it taking directive from God. Dr Dayal grabbled the oppourtunity Sakshi threw at him. That's all.

He is not going to tell anything about the deal to Durga. Both Dev and Durga has their own regrets sitting in the mandap. They will work together for the mission. Along the way they will re-discover their relationship.

By the time it's time to reveal the truth they both would have their own share of apprehensions about it.

Dev would have started loving his wife and he would be confused what to tell Nithya, Durga/Nithya would have truly fallen for him and will be in a dilemma how to reveal her true identity to him and how he will react to it.

There will be for sure some drama around it.

Dayal did it on his own seizing matters in hands.

The decision to put Dev in place of Shaurya was Sakshi's , that of her clever thinking this will be the downfall of Durga.

When you grab an opportunity someone has created understand that you didn't had any control over that creation of oppourtunity, your only decision was whether to use it or not.

Dev's character was not being heroic. Now, he will. Hopefully!

Of course everyone hopes Dev to do something.

He raised hopes when he and Gautam were attacked and he said he knew what Rajnath Goenka was like. Too bad nothing happened.

Having good guys with a spine is very important or else this show will end up glorifying villains.
