It's time to do something absolutely great !

Till she succeeds in finding that astounding script, she is happy doing the blockbusters, Kareena Kapoor Khan tells Pratishtha Malhotra. Amidst a good deal of other chirps and chatter, of course!
Whenever the occasion comes to chat up this damsel, you can be sure of one thing: You will have the time of your life! One quality which our lovely Bebo has which many lack is honesty. She is so blatant about everything on the face of the earth that you know that what you see is what you get. And that effortlessly makes her a star. She walks in and your eyes have to be on her, spot on! Even if she is in a pair of sweats and a messy bun. We meet at husband, Saif Ali Khan's office and the fun begins...
"I don't want to do something different just for the sake of it. If I do something different, the script has to be great otherwise there is no point. Else, I am happy working in these mega blockbuster films. Plus I don't think that I can romance Varun Dhawan, that'll be pushing it (Laughs). I am an actor who is very much in check with reality. I love Varun but I definitely don't want to romance him, I'd rather have dinner with him. So I am happy with Salman, Ajay, Akshay, Aamir, Shah Rukh."
She surprises again, speaking of working with Salman in Bajrangi Bhaijaan', "I said yes because of Kabir (Khan). Kabir and I have never done a film together. He is a very intelligent filmmaker who will make a good film. It will have something different and new for me to do because even Kabir has not worked with any other actress in the last four films and he is also working with someone new, so that excited me, you know. It is going to be a very different film for Salman also because it is more of a human story rather than an action-packed film."
While every other female actor is getting into the action space, our Bebo smiles at the thought and says, "Never, never, never! I can't do an action film and I'll always do something that I like doing. I can't...I don't know. Like I said, I like watching films like Bridges Of Madison County', Revolutionary Road', Abhimaan', Arth', Aradhana'...so I can't think of doing an action film (chuckles). But I really applaud Rani (Mukerji) and Priyanka (Chopra) for attempting such a different kind of a genre. Hats off!!! I'll definitely tell them when I meet them because I can't do this. I think I'll look really funny doing action. Mere liye dance hi theek hai, yaar."
She loves to watch old Hindi films and is hooked whenever any of them are on TV. "I love Angoor' and the old Golmaal', Kaagaz Ke Phool', Abhimaan', Aradhana'. I have seen more of the old films than any of the recent films. The last Hindi film that I saw was Dabangg'. When old films run on TV, I am hooked! Then Saif is watching his English film, and I am watching the old Hindi film. Talking about Raj Kapoor's films, I love Bootpolish', Awaara', Prem Rog', I have seen all the films."
Detaching yourself from a character, a film that you have lived with for so long is a tough job, maybe this is the toughest job as an actor but Kareena admits to going with her instinct. "The problem is that I am an instinctive actor so as soon as a shot is cut, I am detached from the character. That's my nature, and I am like that. I never prepare, so it's instinctively whatever I am feeling at that moment... like if I am riding a rickshaw, I am personally having a blast. I never want to lose that trait even as a person because when I meet people I am very instinctive.
"Either I can instantly like you or generally be detached. That's the way I have always been in my life. Now, I'm looking for scripts and different kind of roles. I mean, like I said, I have read a lot of scripts in the last three to four months, some are good, some are okay, but now I think it's time to do something which is absolutely great. I mean, it's great to say things like it challenges you and stuff but man, it's my job...I love acting (Laughs). I should just be excited to go to the set and have a blast - how big or small the role is really doesn't matter.
"You see so many Hollywood actors do such small parts in films. Just look at Jennifer Lawrence in American Hustle', it's the smallest role in the film but she was just OUTTT-STANDING! It's not the length of the role which has mattered to me always. It doesn't matter if you're not there in every frame but when you are there, you should be remembered for it. There should be this spark on screen. That's important to me."
