" Sharon kuch to bol... mein akele hi kabse bole jar aha hoon..." Swayam was holding sharon's hand and walking towards a caf while Sharon was staring at their etwined fingures with a soft smile...
His shake broke her trance...
"ahh...haa bol kya bol raha hai tu..." Sharon asked visibly embarrassed at herself for being so lost...
They entered the caf and took the seat...swayam ordered a coffee for himself and a brownie for Sharon... he knew brownie was her favourite...
"Sharon... this is awkward... but you know...papa talked to me about our marriage...I hope your parents..." She cut him in the middle...
"yeah mamma said... and before you ask what should we do... let me clear this out... I DON'T KNOW..." She dug into her brownie...
"abbey we are in a problem and tujhe brownie k alava aur kuch dikhta hi nahi..." swayam started nagging her...
"to maine bola tha order karne ke liye...kisne kiya?? Tune na???" she raised her eyebrows and smirked...
"you are one big fat devil you know..." Swayam grumped...
"and you are one thin tall monkey..." She retorted...
"I don't understand why do we end up fighting at the end of each conversation... lets cut this fight out... tell me Sharon what do you think?? What should we do???" swayam asked...
"as I already said no idea..."
"then get idea you idiot... LOOK we can't say no... because we don't have any reason to say no other than saying we are just best friends and don't love each other which our family won't buy...because they already think we are in love but not confessing..." swayam finished...
Sharon felt a pang in her heart when swayam said we don't love each other...'
"that's not true...i love you stupid...you don't.." her crying heart shouted...
"I know..." she voiced...
"and I don't know whether you will say yes to this proposal of our parents..." He said...
"what do you mean by whether I will say yes... are you going to say yes...????" she was totally shocked...
"look Sharon... I can't take any decision alone without your consent ... but if you ask me frankly I don't have any problem... mom wants me to get married for a long time now and we are best friends... we have known each other since forever Sharon... as of love.. well that we can figure out later ..."
" I don't know swayam... will a marriage work without love...??" She whispered... swayam held her hands which were on the table...she looked up to meet his eyes...
" well I know only one thing that friendship is above anything...whats the point of that love where you only love the other person but that person is not your friend??? Friendship is a relationship above love Sharon...and as far as marriage is concerned I think its companionship..."
"and what about her???" she holding her breath waiting for his reply...
"are you talking about radhika?? Well I never loved her Sharon.. I liked her.. that's it... And that is no where near to love or friendship..."
She felt light...
"I'll need some time to think swayam... can I call you at night..." She asked...
"now you need my permission to call me???" he joked to lighten the situation..
AT NIGHT...
Sharon was standing on the terrace of her house staring blankly at the starry sky...
"Sharon..." His grandmother came and touched her head...
"dadi..." She hugged her and both sat down on the swing...
"itna kya soch rahi hai tu???" her dadi asked her lovingly...
"kuch nahi dadi..." She smiled...
"my Sharon hasn't grown up that much that she can lie to me now..." she smiled in return...
"dadi.. I don't know.. I don't know..." And she sobbed in her lap...
"if you love him so much then why don't you tell him???" she asked while Sharon jerked up...
"dadi he doesn't love me back..." She cried some more...
" may be he does... as far as I know swayam.. he does love you but he himself haven't realized that love yet..." she kept on stroking her hair...
" dadi about the marriage I don't know.. swayam agreed but will a marriage without love work??" she asked...
"a marriage with hidden love and immense friendship will surely work..."
"dadi is it a mistake to fall in love with him???he is my friend and he probably doesn't love me back..."
"do you think it's a mistake???" her dadi seriously questioned...
"I don't know.. my mind thinks..." Before Sharon could complete her dadi said...
"the mind thinks Sharon..the mind is the devil... why do you think people say there is a god and devil residing in each one of us??? Its because our mind is the devil and our heart is the god... One thinks and one feels...don't live on the devil's wish Sharon... awaken your heart...let the god in you decide your journey... If you don't do that you will fall into a fissure Sharon , where existence is not meant neither it is called for..." Sharon looked at her dadi in awe...
"will I be happy if I listen to my heart???" she asked after a long silence...
"I don't know whether you will be happy Sharon...but if you listen to your heart you will never have any complains..." Her dadi stood up kissed her forehead wishing her goodnight and left...
Sharon stood there for sometime more with a smile satisfied with the answer her heart gave her... her decision was made...
She went to her room and picked her phone to dial swayam's number...
Swayam picked it up within seconds...
"whats up cookie...???" he asked with a grin
"ceiling...and stop calling me that.." she replied...
" I'll call you cookie cookie cookie cookie...who are you to stop me huh???"
"its my name swayam shekhawat...so who else other than me can stop you???"
"its me who is calling you that...so technically you can't"
"shut up..you are boring me..."
"so tell me cookie...kya socha tune...?"
"tujhe kaise pata mein usi liye phone kiya???"
"kyunki mein ek vampire hoon aur mujhe mind reading ata hai...ab bol..."
"shut up swayam..."
"abbb bol bhi..."
"kyun ??? tujhe itna interest kyun hai janne mein??? Hmmm hmmm???" she teased
"kyunki by chance if you agree to our parents proposal I have to be prepared to tolerate you..."
"SWAYAM SHEKHAWAT then you better get ready..." she disconnected...
She was happy with her heart's decision and went to sleep with a smile while on the other hand a soft smile played on swayam's lips as well...the reason of course being unknown to him...
