Manhattan, New York...
6 p.m...
It is late December. Though it hasn't snowed yet, it is still very cold. A man come out of the big glass building number 1101. Wearing a long black coat over his strip white shirt and pants with his laptop bag in his right hand, he looked very Godlike. He was probably in his early thirties and could give any guy a sense of complexity. His black hair blows in the cold wind. His fair skin flushed because of the cold wind. With quick strides, he got to his 2014 white Toyota Land Cruiser in the parking lot. Beeping it open, he puts his laptop bag in the trunk and get in the driver seat.
He starts his car and turn the heat all the way up. Then he sits back in the seat and pulls his phone out of his pocket. He goes through his text and frown appears on his face. Sighing in defeat, he calls somebody. He puts his phone on speaker and positions it on his mount holder. After buckling himself, he puts his car on reverse and pulls his car back as the ringing of the call echoes in the quiet car.
"Wali," a man answered on the other side on the last ring. "I got your text," Wali said quietly as he drive out the parking lot. "So... what do you think?" the man asked sounding nervous. "Look, man. I already told you my decision. I am not going to do this deal. I can't." Wali answered sounding tired of this call already.
"But dude did you read it? It is... not that bad," the man said on the other side. "That bad? Dude, this is completely bad news! I'm not doing it!" Wali told him straightaway without any nonsense. He stops on the signal. "But..." the other man started again but Wali interrupted, "No man. And I have to go now. I wanted to let you that I wont be working on this deal regardless," saying that he hanged up on him.
Wali takes a deep breath to calm himself. Just then the signal opens and he drives away. As he drives, he runs his hand through his hair trying to get ride of the headache that was already forming. It was not easy being a MD of a multinational company. Suddenly thinking of something, he hits 1 on his speed-dial. As the phone rings, he looks drives looking at the houses deck with Christmas decoration. He smiles remembering something just then somebody answers the call.
"Yoboseyo![Hello in Korean]" a little girl answers cheerfully. Wali chuckles and greets, "Hi, Sandy!" Laughing, she replies, "Hi Li! Im good, what about you?" "Im good but how many times do I have to tell you. It's Wali not Li," Wali shakes his head thinking of this crazy girl. "Acha, leave all this. Where is Ayaan?" Wali ask. "He is out in the backyard playing with his friends," Sandy tells him.
"Ok, cool! Could you do me a favor, Sandy?" Wali ask knowing very sure what the answer will be. "Yeah, sure. What can I do for you?" she ask all ready to help. He smile. "Ok just make sure that the kitchen is clean and Im planning on making Ayaan's favorite dish tonight and just make sure all the ingredients are in stock otherwise text me and I will grab them on my way," Wali instructed her. "Ok, Boss. I will do," Sandy answered and they hanged up. Satisfied with his plan for tonight, he drives away to home when he doesn't get a text from Sandy.
30 minutes later...
Wali pull in his in driveway. He turns his car off and comes out. He walks to the trunk to pick his laptop bag and then walks in while beeping his Land Cruiser locked. He walks to the backyard and finds Ayaan playing with his friends and Sandy sitting on the porch reading a book. He walks to Sandy. After thanking her and sending her away, he walks in.
He climbs upstairs and goes to his room. After freshening up and getting changed, he comes down in the kitchen. As instructed, Sandy had cleaned the kitchen. He immediately gets to work. Today's special was Spaghetti with meatballs: Ayaan's favorite! Wali smile as he started
20 minutes later...
Everything was in the process of getting ready. After cleaning the kitchen, Wali walkout in the backyard. "Hi, buddy!" he called out. A little kid of 5-years-old runs to him and hugs him, "Daddy!" Wali hugs him back with a big smile. After a minute, he pulls back. "So ready for Monday Night special?" Wali ask with a twinkle in his eyes. Ayaan's eyes dilated and he looks at the kitchen behind Wali and runs inside.
He was about to go inside the kitchen when Wali picks him up in the air. He squirms but Wali is least bothered. While tickling him, he takes him upstairs to Ayaan's room. After getting him washed and changed, they came down. While Wali goes into the kitchen to check on the food. Ayaan goes to the TV room.
As Wali comes to the TV room, he sees Ayaan is waiting for him after setting Mario up. Shaking his head, he goes towards him and sits down beside him. "Ready?" he ask. "Yes, Daddy! You are soo going to lose!" Ayaan declares war and starts. They both played like brothers rather than father and son. They both look really cute. They both were having fun. Just then the timer went off, announcing the food is ready.
"Okay, lets go. The food is ready." Wali told Ayan as he looked at the clock behind him. Noticing it was already 8. He shakes his head and mumbles, "Aaj bhi late." Father and son go and have their food with cute food fights.
After they finished eating, their maid Nancy comes and cleans everything up as Wali carries a sleepy Ayaan to upstairs. After cleaning him up AGAIN and changing his clothes AGAIN, he lies down on the bed with him putting him to sleep. His eyes glance at the electronic clock on the bedside table, which reads 9:15. He sighs and puts his head back on the headrest closing his eyes.
