When we go to the movies here, we have our National Anthem played before the movie begins.
Do you also have your National Anthem played in movie halls before the movie begins?

It happens in before every show in every movie hall in Mumbai. Introduced a few years ago. I was not aware that it was not an all-India thing. I thought it happens all over the country.

May be in some states but i think it was stopped as people do not stop for national Anthem to complete and it was supposed to be disrespect to NA. Here in Delhi and in NCR have not seen .

ummm...what kind of question?
Just wanted to know if its similar there. Our neighboring country, and after watching Pak serials, so many of us realized that we know so little about day to day life there. It was just asking about that.

in fact when they started here, it used to be like that. People would continue sitting or walking in. But they would be told off by others. Now, since it s the norm, there is pin drop silence. People stop in their tracks and look at the flag on the screen. I think it has awakened something in them.

National Anthem is played in most cinemas in India before the start of a movie. Even in single screens. I cannot vouch for whole of India but yeah it is a norm.
