Smartness is cunningness?

Well people are termed as being smart if they are outward and tactfull. Its great to be smart. Well isn't being tactfull displays some level of cunningness.

Arn't people playing tacts on you cunning and otherwise smart individuals.

Can smartness be equated as being cunning in broader sense?

i disagree. there are plenty of smart people who are not cunning. are they as successful in today's world as other smart and cunning people? something to ponder.
but not all smart ppl are cunning. Sant Dnyaneshwar, Bahinabai,swami vivekananda, Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Dhondo Keshav Karve, Rosalind Franklin-my hero - not a hint of cunning in them.. but brilliant!

But I feel little bit cunning needed in life...otherwise very tuff to survive..😊

two sides of the same coin...such ppl might be born with same kind of skills...its the way they use them that determines if they are smart in a sensible way or the cunning way!

Smart-intelligent people never have to resort at being cunning. They work smart and hard to be successful.

It is the others who dont have what it takes to be successful so they use any tricks or resort to cunningness to get somewhere IMHO. Easy way out of over night success.

As we knOw "No One is tOtally perfet"... sO, ithink that every man pOsses every quality in a limitesd quantity... and when a persOn is smart, there wOld be lil bit Of selfishness fOr persOnal issues, lil bit of cunningness fOr sure...

Smartness does not always include cunningness but cunningmess always has smartness of some sort.

In contemporary times, being a little cunning definitely helps. Well of course, I am not talking about being cunning like K-Vamps.
