Chapter 25: The Union

Krsna got up and said, "Radhe, decorate yourself with all finery and come over to the Kuteera on the banks of Yamuna, near the Bhandira trees where I sit with my gopa friends every day."

With this short note, Krsna vanished.

Radha for once, felt glad of his disappearance, and excitedly discussed with Vrinda of her happiness and delight. Vrinda was also very happy to see her sakhi's happiness. She helped Radha to get ready, by applying sandal paste on her, and decorating her hair with sweet-smelling flowers.

She then transformed Radha's ordinary dress into an exquisite one fit for the Goddess. She presented her with earrings and other jewellery, and Radha decorated herself beautifully.

Then, with lot of shyness, she got up. Vrinda took her hand, and like a sakhi holding the hand of a bride, she escorted Radha to the Kuteera.

"Sakhi, your wish has come true." Vrinda said, with joy in her voice. "Krsna came to you and even fell at your feet, and now is waiting for you in the cottage by the Yamuna.

Your gait humbles the swans even! With you body swaying gracefully, and your jewellery tinkling, enter the cottage!"

Just then, Krsna began playing Kalyani, the ever vibrant and pleasing Raga. Vrinda smiled, and said, "Look, he has already begun playing his flute! Do not tarry any more! The cuckoos are cooing, the creepers are shaking, the breeze is blowing, all in anticipation of you!
Perhaps Kamadeva is tickling you?"

Radha looked at her astonished. "Tickling me?"

"Well, I don't know, the way you are giggling, and the pearl necklace on your chest swaying to and fro - your waist-bells jingling! Anyway," she continued, as Radha blushed, "come on! Let us not delay! Let the sound of your anklets declare your arrival to Madhusudana!"

With Radha walking like a swan, and Vrinda leading her slowly, they reached the Kuteera.

"Radhe! You, who are so excited to meet Madhava, please enter the cottage and delight him, thereby making the whole atmosphere auspicious!

"Just look at how the cottage is decorated, with Ashoka leaves garlanding the door, just like the pearl necklace around you neck!

And the flowers! Ah, fragrance! And so delicate, like your body, trembling with excitement!"

As Vrinda described the beauty of the place, Krsna's Kalyani Raga had pervaded the atmosphere completely.

A swift breeze blew around. "Look Radhe, the breeze is inviting you inside, to meet with your Krsna! Just like your bosom is decorated with so many jewels, Krsna has decorated this whole cottage, just for you!

"With the bees buzzing, and the cuckoos cooing sweetly, and this Kalyani Raga pervading the atmosphere, I sing of your love, oh one who plays in the heart of Madhava Himself!"

Radha looked on, eager to enter the cottage, but still feeling shy. Vrinda suddenly began singing, "Madhava Hrdi Khelini! Madhuripu Samadana Vadana Madhupe, Jaya!"

Oh one who plays in the heart of Madhava, the one with speech as sweet as nectar, be victorious!

As the flute played on, Radha swayed in the music. "Veetopamana Venugaana Nada Sulaya Rasike! Rasaalaye!

Nanavidha Pushpitaagra Sugandha Lata Nikunja Mandira Sadane!"

Oh one enchanted by the beautiful and uplifting music of the flute, oh abode of all emotions! Enter this beautiful cottage, decorated with creepers and and flowers of different colours and smell!

Radha then slowly entered the cottage, and looked at her Krsna. He smiled brightly, and continued Vrinda's song! "Radhe! Rasayuta Rasavilaase!" Oh Radhe, you delight in the Rasaleela, which is filled with the highest emotions of Bhakti and Prema! Truly, you rule over the entire kingdom of my Love! "Shri Hari Prema Akhanda Mandala Samrajya Adhipate, Radhe!"

Radha was thrilled beyond her imagination!

Chapter 26: Prema-Kalyanam!

Krsna looked at Radha. He felt himself getting lost in her love, swimming in the waves of her Love for Him! Truly, she was the Sovereign of the entire Orbit of the Kingdom of Hari-prema! Sri Hari Prema Akhanda mandala Samrajya Adhipate!

Radha looked at Krsna, her love for him pouring out of her eyes. Krsna in turn looked at Radha. He was decorated with pearl necklaces, like the ripples on the Yamuna river! He looked at his Radha, who was wearing a simple pearl necklace of twenty seven pearl beads, and yet radiated such love for him! Saptavimshati Muktamalika Shobhita Kandhare! Madhukara Radhe!

Like the yellow pollen fallen from a bee onto a blue lotus, Krsna's body was decorated with his yellow Silk! But the Yellow silk looked dull to Krsna when he compared it to Her golden complexion, like the creator of Cupid! No wonder she was envied by Chandravali, and criticized by her jealous words! Nindita Sarasaripu-Kirana-Dhavala-Radana-Vikasitojjvalayuta Manasija Radhe!

Radha stared out of her beetle-black eyes at Krsna, who was returning the eye-lock with great love! like birds flying over a lotus lake in autumn! Seeing her beautiful form, decorated with Lotus flowers, Krsna thought, "I myself am enamoured by Her, she who is superior to me even in Rasaleela, with her hands beating in tempo, and her bangles jingling!" Nagadhara Gopa Vadhujana Kutuhanatana Adbhutakam Prakara Samana Chamikara Sarasija Karatala Mrdu Taala Kalakala Rava Manivalaye Radhe!

As Krsna's fish-shaped earrings shook with delight, he longed to kiss her tender lips! She twisted the lotus in her hand out of shyness, conquering that Madhava, like the ears which held those earrings! She defined Krsna, with her beautiful nectarine speech! Karatala kamala, Ratisamaye, Jita Madhava Manimaya Kundala Khelita Sukarnike! Prabhita Tatsubhasita Shruti Yugala Sarasarasarasane Radhe! (Sarasarasarasane is split as Sarasa Rasa (flowing nectar-like) Rasane (Speech).)

With that beautiful sandalwood on His face, and the radiance like the moonlight among the dark clouds, Krsna gazed upon His Radha, who was praised by the Munis and Yogis, for her beautiful dance granting Bliss and Liberation, who was always with Krsna, who always resided in the pure and devoted heart, granted happiness to all, and was worshipped by the three worlds! Samadhika nava nava vrajata gunijana kala chala natana kolahala samaye krta reeshita madhava sahite muni manasaamapi kalita tannatana niravadhi sukhanandata nimaghna hrdaye sadaye ati adbhutaanaka keli vilasa chaturE bhavita tribhuvana madhurasa rasike Madhukara Radhe!

Krsna was supremely delighted at this beautiful meeting with Radharani, and with his love shining on his face like his jewels on his body, he granted the wishes of all his devotees all over the world! Radhe Rasayuta Rasa Vilaase, Hari Smara Sukha Vara Prasaade! Manomudita Leela Vinode! Harina Upa Koohita Sangraheetam api Shastra Jagana Ruchira Kanakavasane! Mrdu Vachane, madhava Hrdi Khelini!

In this way, Radha and Krsna performed their marriage of Love in the Kuteera!
