Anytime!!! 😊

Yes we are all like that as soon as the Pressure is off, and its Holidays and that we forget the basics. 😆 That is why i hate going back in September for new classes for the new skl year after 6 weeks holidays ( we start in sep, dunno if every1 does).

Thats why i am glad during Term time there is pressure on me to do well, otherwise i will turn into my brother 😆

Alrite now anon ji,

Did you just have to remind poor souls like me that summer is flying away? 😭

That's very mean, you know 😭 😭

On the brighter side though, we get like 12 weeks off

I just want to get feedback from DM members whether the parents should put pressure on kids for selecting educational fields in US so as to secure good future.

It is possible that what a parent considers guidance be construed as pressure from child's point of view. I think we need to first analyse whether a parent is forcing a career option on the child or genuinely giving good advise. Most parents would not make decisions to harm their children. So I think for a kid it is better to keep that option open too. A better way would be to sit with parent and way all pros and cons of chosen field.

I personally think that no the parents should not pressurize their kids on what career they should choose. Of course guidance is necessary so that the child understands the different aspects of that particular career but i don't think it would be right that the parent makes the decision for the child because later on who knows maybe the child had a dream to become something else but because of his/her's parents the dream remained only as a dream and never came true. I think that the career/job you should choose should be one that you love and enjoy doing most.😊

I think whenever parents try to suggest something to kids, it is considered pressurizing. I have noticed in our family as well as my friends' families. Whenever I look back, I feel that suggestion by my parents were so good and I am glad I followed. I tell the same thing to my kids. There is a need for doing some balancing act so that kids take our advises with positive attitude.

Positive pressure on kids with limit is right way to go. Kids brain also wants some challenges too. Everything is great in moderation and parents are the one who know where to draw the line.

Be it for education or extra curricular activities.
