The clock strikes 12...Kalpi looks around and realizes everyone is asleep while she is still sitting at the table. She thinks it's time for her to sleep as Rags won't come today as well. Though sleep is away from her eyes but she is well aware of the fact that this body is a machine which needs rest.. she looks at the food kept on the dining table and keeps it back in the fridge without eating it... Raghav who has came by now looks at her from the back, she turns around on feeling someone's strong gaze on her, their eyes meet.. he notices the dried tears in her eyes and the loneliness.. She notices the guilt in his eyes which he tried to cover in the glass of whiskey.. she turns around so that she doesn't change her decision of ending the relationship with him. She is afraid that she might look through his eyes and his guilt might melt her heart. He extends his arm to touch her shoulder as he knows the pain which he is feeling right now is piercing her heart as well but pulls it back on realizing that he has lost the right to touch her.. She hopes that her eyes don't meet with his once again but somewhere inside she wants him to look through her and see the love she has for him..Though she has told him not to touch her but her heart is still beating fast in the hope that he will embrace her in a tight hug and take away all the pain.. Finally she loses her control and turns around to talk to him but only to see him climbing the stairs. A small tear forms in her right eye but she wipes it before it can roll on the cheek.
Before going to her room she checks on Ria, it's her daily habit. She covers her with the blanket which was lying by her side and look at her little daughter's face.. Ria is tossing on the bed while sleeping.. She caresses Ria's head and Ria stops tossing and finally sleeps with a peaceful smile. Kalpi looks at the side table and notices the packet of medicines kept on it. She keeps it in the shelf and sheds a silent tear for her daughter and her illness.. Before she starts crying hard she leaves the room.
Raghav is sitting in his study... It's 10 past 12, his alarm rings once again, last time he dint budge to notice it and kept it on snooze for 10 minutes instead of stopping it.. Finally he looks at it to shut it permanently but words flashing on the screen catches his attention.. "Our love anniversary" He reads aloud and get startled n sits on the bed... He remembers their love anniversary after the wedding.
Flashback
As usual he has arrived late from the office.. it's around 12 and he was expecting Kalpi to wait for him.. he bells the ring and waits for her to open.. On not getting response he gets worried and opens the door with his key n rushes inside.. The room was glowing with the dim light of various colorful candles.. He notices a heart made of rose petals on the dinning table and a photo cake placed in the mid. He looks closely at the photo and it's their farewell pic. The day when he proposed her. He wonders Kalpi still remembers the day after their marriage. Kalpi comes there wearing the same saree she has wore on the farewell day but with her mangalsutra and sindoor making her complete. He looks at her beauty and says sorry to her for not remembering the special day of their life coz of the exhausting job.. She assures him that it's fine and takes out his cell from his pocket and fits the reminder as "Our love anniversary." He promises her that he will always keep this reminder in his cell and they will celebrate it every year. She nods in agreement and tells him to cut the cake.. They cut it together and feeds it to each other.. A small piece of cake cream sticks to the side of her lip, he indicates it to her, she tries to wipe it but on the wrong side.. He brings his lips closer to her.. while wiping the cream, he tastes her lips as well and soon they get engrossed in the love kiss they share.. She finally breaks it and tells him to have dinner as she has prepared everything for her but he tells her to keep it in the fridge and come with him. She asks where but he tells her to just follow as it's now his turn to make the day special. She follows him.
"But it's too late Raghav, everyone is sleeping.. where are u taking me" She said while showing him the watch.
"This is mumbai meri jaan.. n u know mumbai never sleeps." He said while kicking his bike and telling her to sit.
He takes her to the juhu beach.. Though it's night but the local vendors were still there. There were hardly 10-15 people on the beach.. Kalpi looks at the sea and runs towards it like a little kid.. She is in mumbai from a long time but never visited beach at this late hours.. The darkness of the sky and the glowing stars with the noise of sea waves is filling her with excitement.. She takes out her footwear and runs on the water.. Rags too follows her and they starts splashing water on each other.. Rags is not getting Kalpi chance to splash water on him.. suddenly he hears her screaming in pain.. worriedly he goes there.. She sits in the water while keeping her hand on the eyes.. he tells her to let him have a look but she lowers her head and finally laughs and splashes water for him.. He laughs too and holds her tightly.. Both of them fall in the water.. getting wet.. He gets up and gives his hand to her.. looks at her saree becoming clingy coz of the water and takes out his shirt to cover her.. She tells it's fine as it's night already but he covers her with shirt saying.. "Only I have the right to admire ur perfect curves." She blushes and points towards the pani poori stall.. They eat pani poori vada pao and all sort of junk food. It's already morning and they are sitting at beach, holding their hands. Suddenly Raghav tells her to get up but she insists to stay for few more minutes as she wants to see the sunrise at beach but he doesn't listen and takes her to another place.. Reluctantly she climbs the little rocks and looks around.. Rags tells her to see in the particular direction and she sees it.. The first ray of sun is giving the golden shade to the sky.. She looks at the beauty of sky and the entire city she is able to see from the point they are standing.. She is mesmerized by the beauty of nature, she always wanted to see something like this but her parents n their strict rules never let her fulfill this dream of hers. For a second she forgets the world and keep staring at the beautiful sight.. Raghav takes her pic with the rising sun.. She compliments her beauty.. And she smiles at him..
Flashback ends
The alarm is still ringing. He finally stops it and goes out of his room to see Kalpi.. he is not ready to believe that kalpi has forgotten today's day as from past 13 years she is wishing him on this day..Though last year also he failed to keep his promise of wishing him but she still texted him and requested him to come soon which as always he failed to do.
Kalpi is sitting on her bed.. Whose size is still same but it now looks bigger than usual as she is only one sitting on it.. She looks at their photo kept on the side table and wishes him happy love anniversary, She picks the photo and blows on it to remove the thin layer of dust and sneezes loudly coz of it. She remembers the day when she caught the cold..
Flashback
She was sneezing badly and Raghav comes to the room... She requests him to give her vicks so that she can apply it but he picks the bottle and starts applying it on her throat.. her hands slowly going down and she is sensing it.. She pushes him back and tells him to stay away as he might catch the cold.. He doesn't pay attention to her words and comes closer to her.. He holds her from the shoulder and let her lie on the bed.. Once again she tells him to stay away as he might catch the cold but he keeps his finger on her lips and shushes her saying.. He is just trying to shoo away her cold by increasing her temperature.. Naughtily she replies.. "Than switch on the heater.." He too plays along saying.. "Why to increase electricity bill when u have ur personal heater there." She blushes hard.. He kisses her neck softly and she gets the sensuous feeling.. slowly she forgets the cold and starts responding to his actions..
Flashback ends..
She traces her palm on the ironed bedsheet and thinks loudly... "At least now this bedsheets don't get crushed." She gets up and goes to the door.. turns around and looks at the interior of the room.. "With my old house and my furniture, I lost my relations as well." She thinks and finally runs to the guest room where she has started leaving after the "Black day" of her life.
Rags is standing outside the guest room.. Their room stays empty as Rags has shifted to the study and Kalpi to the guest room.. He looks at her coming closer and sticks the slip to the door and hides himself. She reaches door and notices the slip.. reads it, "Happy love anniversary.. " A smile appears on her face.. She has got this surprise when she wasn't expecting it.. she feels him around and the smile disappeared from her face.. She flips the note and reads, "Sorry, can we start afresh.." She remembers the day when she has applied for the divorce.. She crushes the note and throws it on the floor and slams the door loudly after going inside. Rags picks the note but than throws it back on the floor and goes from there.. After few seconds she opens the door and looks around.. On not finding Rags.. she picks the note and takes it inside. Though she is not going to forgive him ever for his mistakes but she still can't stop herself from keeping that note with her.. Rags who was sitting at stairs in the dark looks at her n a ray of hope appears on his lips.
