New Delhi: A two-day-old baby girl has been rescued from a sandpit in Mehbubnagar in Andhra Pradesh, after she was allegedly buried alive.

Police say the baby's maternal grandparents tried to bury her alive. The baby's grandfather is reported to have told the police that he did it because he didn't want another girl child in the family.
.

why are such a fuss bout girls... selling them now i m reading that they are killing them n the mum was involved... WHY>.evn the mother..who can be the closest to a baby..the mother ..but ..

some parts India is still in old times ..where a daughetr is a boj..headavhe of problems like dahej and ..she is said to be cursed or unluky if she is not married after a certain age.. is it fair... no one points out to a guy and says you are over 40 n nt married..u must be a bad luck or a boj to ur parents

He says that he already has seven daughters, five of them unmarried. The mother of the baby was also allegedly involved in the plot.

The infant's father was away in Maharashtra when the incident occurred. Her grandparents and uncle have been charged with attempt to murder.

The baby was saved by a local farmer, who saw her arm jutting out of the pit and is recovering at the Mahbubnagar district hospital now.

beats me. it's inhuman, disgusting, and horrible. In India, the girl boy ratio is getting screwed up already because of this attitude.

Sangeeta, could you please arrange your siggies vertically? The way they are right now, I have to scroll sideways to read thru your entire post. It actually messes up the page setup.

Thanks,
Gauri

Agreed Gauri, But its just not in india sadly

This attiude is common in other eastern places too, makes me mad.

I actually had a discussion on this today with my Mother and Sister based on something that happened.

I get mad at this soch of people's. I just end up saying if there are all Guys in the world, who will carry on the population? No Girls= No children, but i guess in a world with advancing technology they will even get around this. Just clone some more people in different ways.

Will edit and come back, and add more, but burying your child or grandchild alive...Just disgusting, a life is a life. A gift, and so precious.

Love your children for who they are....😳 Whether it is a boy or a girl....It has a small little heart inside it that beats...😳

Vinu, say if we forget that it happened in india....what about World Wide, it still occurs in paces. Dowry system might be banned ther ebut no in other countries or in other families...can not say same for all.

Ok so this has made headlines, but think of all the other cases that are not made into headlines. Just one ever so often will be news, but so many others are not known of but still occur.

Just makes me sad....there are people in this world who can not even have children, then their are other people who go and do this. Not done, wrong.

You are killing a Innocent child, who was bought into the world- no fault of that life.

this will change as more and more people get educated...cant blame anyone right now....morally, legally i think they are already facing the law...
