The topic posted by Dew a while ago.. made me think of this post.

I have always been in a debate within my head when it came to people around me making statements like ...Mahatma Gandhi and his non-violence policy gave us our independance in 1947. A difference in opinion wud arise when few of them would say...so what exactly did Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Netaji Bose do? Did they do nothing? Did going the violence way not help at all? Well...I guess we cant settle scores n arrive at a decision at all.

In India today...though we arent ruled by the British anymore, we do have corrupt politicians and people corrupting n exploiting law, order and humanity taking over the regular life of a common man. Films like Rang De Basanti are an attempt to show the frustration that has gone out of hands in the life of a common man in India. You also have movie like Munna Bhai...bringing in the Gandhi way of life and urging people to bring in some change.

After 60 yrs of independance...sometimes I feel we are back there again, jus that this time the enemy is our own. What will work to bring everything in order today if one fine day everyone decides to fight it out....the Gandhi way all over again? Or the SubhashChandra Bose, Bhagat Singh way? Non violence or violence? Which one will work in today's India?

(Im not sure of this topic has been discussed, if so, pl close it)

I don't know what will work in today's India. Last I heard, cops open-fired at
people who were protesting, while protestors flung stones at the cops,
hence killing one or two! The future looks bleak!

I read a quote the other day. It said, 'the future is just like the present, only
longer.' I think the same can go for the past.

Hmm...I think so too Persy. Future does look bleak.
In a moment of rage, I just hope at times that someone just goes n shoots a buncha politicians and establish a rule..that those who go the corruption way will be taken care of this very way. Maybe the fear becomes a deterrant.
And then a thought comes through...nah, this aint gonna work. Few more will sprout from nowhere. Buh then, do people of today have that kinda tolerance n patience to go the non-violent way to get things done? Dun think today people have that in them.
Dunno what the solution would be...buh I really hope there is one someday cus this isnt good...it cant go on like this forever 😔

So you mean high class educated all people are good...........???😕........ 1947 matter all know that all looking for one thing, there is a Goal to alllllllllllllll to get freedom from British Rule so 80% people agree the non-violence method and 20% people not agree with that....Both have same goal with diff manner....last non-violence win.....The violence thinking still alive inside some peoples mind that the fact..........May be years later some countries History say Bin laden is freedom fighter....some agree some not.......or In iraq history i feel Sadam image changing......into Breave Hero.......So If you check history base upon situations....all are heros.😃

I feel that too Tally...the educated middle class will lose it someday, big enough to fight the system. Buh everyone has become so giving, succumbing and adjusting in life...they just seem to find out more n more ways to adjust in life rather than finding ways to fight or oppose 😕
