May be dadaji wanted to get the truth out of Nishu's mouth and that could be the reason he said he would like to talk to the guy to fix her engagement. He would have thought by mentioning marriage, Nishu might reveal the truth.

Looks like Dadi will help Nishu here by talking to the boys (Umesh & Suku) and plan her engagement with Ritesh.
